To give up my liberal values?

I'm a soft leftie, Remain-voting, pro-equality, charity-giving middle aged woman and I am sorely tempted to ditch the lot and no longer give a rat's arse about other people?

The Right is rising, self interest is rising, self-righteousness is rising. People in this so-called liberal country are admitting the inadmissible with pride. Women's rights are under attack, anti-Muslim is the new anti Semitism, the poor the weak and the vulnerable are at greater risk than ever.

I fucking despair. My reality is that I am -touch wood - going to be ok come a hard Brexit, I'm one of the incredibly fortunate people in this country.

So AIBU to think I may as well stop voting for, and supporting, and canvassing for, and funding, and giving time to, every single thing that does not maximise my own personal best interests?

yup... Brexit was always an amazing idea so any problems are because of evil saboteurs, not because a successful Brexit was incredibly difficult & torturous thing to ever achieve.

Yes I really wish there was a decent Lib Dem middle path to take. I also believe in acting as kindly as possible on a local level while having as much fun as possible.
