AIBU to be surprised by this? Not sure what to make of it...

so it's a dress not in pink? What a load of nonsense. Though putting babies in dresses is a nonsense, whatever the colour or description.

planespotting · 18/01/2019 11:53

Not much to make up really, they promote the fabric as unisex and they just typed unisex Winnie on the site for all items in that fabric and one happens to be a dress. Not making a statement, just mislabeled

Nowhere in the description mentions it and the shirt and leggings are the same

While I tend to laugh at gender deniers. I have no idea what's wrong with this. It seems practical.

Queenofthestress · 18/01/2019 11:55

All clothes that arent primarily pink or blue are marketed as unisex, it just means its grey, white or yellow usually...

Jamellie · 18/01/2019 11:55

Surely it's just a dress though? If I dress can be unisex, then so can the colour pink, therefore aren't all dresses either unisex, or just 'dresses'?

They’ve put in the description ‘her’ I think it’s just a typo/label error.

Jamellie · 18/01/2019 11:56

@Queenofthestress @planespotting fair enough. I think I misinterpreted.

@Jamellie because anything that is not blue and pink they labelled unisex and they didnt proof read I think Smile

BeanTownNancy · 18/01/2019 12:08

I do sometimes wish I could dress my boys in dresses and know I technically could but just couldn't be bothered with having to correct people who would constantly assume it was a girl.

I would love to be a modern liberal "let toys be toys"/"clothes be clothes" parent in theory, but I'm far too lazy in practice. 😂

RiverTam · 18/01/2019 12:21

dresses are an absolute pain in the neck for non-walking babies, you just spend the whole time pulling the skirt back down over their bottom when you pick then up as it rides up all the time.

Babygros and leggings all the way!

guildTheLilly · 18/01/2019 12:22

I know of a family who send their boy in to school (he's 3 or 4, I guess) in dresses, wellies, tutus etc.

It's incredibly contrived and tedious. Some like to go out of their way to be contrary and obtuse.

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 18/01/2019 12:44

I'd assume it's a typo but wouldn't be surprised if it isn't. Maybe they're trying to be "hip and trendy". What next, unisex trousers Grin

Queenofthestress · 18/01/2019 15:49

It does generally go on the colour scheme of the garment as to whether the store brands it as unisex, you'll find most white things under unisex, personally I think it should all just be under 'babies' and group everything together by garment instead of boys tops, girls tops etc regardless of whether its dresses or trousers Confused

My MiL has a photo of her older brother, in around 1920,wearing a very frilly dress. Things go around in circles

User758172 · 18/01/2019 20:45

@goose1964

All young boys wore dresses in those days though. Easier when potty training.
