Incident today at nursery

Went to pick little one up and was told off staff that the manager wanted to speak to me. I said ok, she comes out and in front of staff and other parents told me I had £400, nearly a month of nursery fees outstanding. This is the third time I've been in this situation. I have been told I have arrears but don't. They have two separate billing systems. So one where payments are recorded, then uploaded to another to take off the bill. I don't have any arrears just to be clear.

When this happened previously I was terrified I had fallen behind and didn't know how I was going to catch up, only to then be told there are no arrears they have just been behind updating their billing system. Every time this happens it gives me genuine anxiety. I can't afford to be in arrears and keep on top of all my bills because I'm on such a tight budget. Discussing it in front of parents and staff is mortifying and to top it off I'm
Not even in arrears and this is the third time this has happened.

My child is pretty content there but I'm absolutely fuming and don't think I can cope with the emotional rollercoaster regarding billing. I don't have the money to pay another nursery up front to move him but I'm tempted to whack it on a credit card. Fed up of this happening

I've only done BACS for a few things but I think it should still show on your bank statement.

It sounds really frustrating.

Yea they've rallied all my payments today and it sounds same as what I have but don't want to have to keep going through this every month. I'll breath a sigh of relief when he starts new place

I had a nightmare with this at my son's old nursery and in the end it was the straw that broke the camel's back and we moved him which was very fortunate as they went bump shortly after owing parents thousands.

I had a feeling someone that was next to us name wise was a bad payer and they kept putting it onto our records instead.

They told me I was £250 in credit once when I wasn't. I emailed for them to correct it and next bill that came out said I was £250 in arrears rather than at a zero balance. I had a hell of a game with that one. In the end the manager said they would 'let me off as a gesture of goodwill'. I rather lost my temper.

I would go in and be quite assertive that you do not owe them any money, you do not appreciate your financial matters being discussed in public and that they need to sort their financial procedures out. You want it corrected within so many days and a full list of the payments they have received off you. If you pay by bank transfer/childcare vouchers I would also take statements in.

It would put me off the nursery though to be honest.
