I wasn't looking for them, it just has them. Everything else about it seems great. Should I carry on looking and find an equivalent car without them?

If it was a vintage fur coat or antique ivory would you be okay buying the item? If yes, then it's no different. If no, then that's your ethical line in the sand. Just because the animal is long dead shouldn't reflect on your stance on purchasing the item now. If you're okay with it then you're okay with it.

Vegetarians still use leather! They just can't eat meat. I think you are confusing vegetarian with vegan. Vegans are the ones who refuse ALL animal byproducts. Vegetarians wear leather, they just don't actually eat the flesh. That's all.

I don’t see why this is an ethical dilemma for a vegetarian. A vegan, yes. A vegetarian still eats eggs and diary and things so why are leather seats any different? Yes the chicken doesn’t die producing the egg but it’s bread solely to produce eggs isn’t it? It’s unlikely to eventually die of natural causes.
