MP help with PIP tribunal??

waltermich · 15/01/2019 19:58

Does anyone know if asking your MP to help with PIP is a good idea? I had my PIP tribunal 5 weeks ago and won! --after 13 months of waiting.
i got a letter yesterday to say the DWP are asking for a SOR
I am so upsest and shocked to find out that the DWP can still prevent me getting PIP even though i won a tribunal :(
CAB say involve MP but 'scope' forums say no as it will make it worse
:(

I don't know if an MP would be of much assistance as it is unlikely they would have full access to your medical history, a thorough knowledge of your medical conditions and the probable implications of them or know you well enough personally to write a supportive letter on your behalf. It may be more help to see if you can obtain letters from specialists supporting your declared level of disability, up to date prescriptions with medication on it that again supports your declared level of disability, possibly pay for a GP letter and perhaps get your GP to refer you to some specialised clinics and have letters supporting the referrals. Hope this helps a little bit and sorry you are going through this.

What's an SOR?

Pugwash1 · 15/01/2019 20:21

It's a Statement of Reasons.
