To stay up all night?

Leaving at 4 in the morning to drive to the airport, considering just staying up all night because getting out of bed with little sleep is so torturous, does anyone do this??

No the sleep between 12 and 3 will be deep restorative sleep so get it.

SavageBeauty73 · 15/01/2019 17:37

Go to bed at 10. Works better than no sleep.

Keepit · 15/01/2019 17:37

Not if you’re drinking no, the little sleep will help ensure you can concentrate. Getting up will be horrible but quick shower and coffee and you’ll be good to go.

Keepit · 15/01/2019 17:38

*driving!

Thisonewilldo · 15/01/2019 17:38

I would sleep - I hate not sleeping. I have plenty of experience with it with my 2 DC, would never voluntarily do it.

Ticcinalong · 15/01/2019 17:38

I’d be in bed for 9 tonight and then you could get around 6hrs with a bit of luck!

Singinghollybob · 15/01/2019 17:39

I have done a couple of times but its just my husband and I, and we've felt we'll be able to sleep on the plane. But I think it's depends on your own situation, e.g. if you'll have children with you, the time zone of your destination e.g. if going west will it still be quite early in the day and expect to stay awake for many hours, and how you cope with little/no sleep!

Bumblebee39 · 15/01/2019 17:41

I'd stay up (and have in the past)
I seem to be able to function fairly well after a missed nights sleep, but others I know really struggle.

HotInWinter · 15/01/2019 17:43

I'd go to bed.
But then its normally me juggling 2 kids across 3 airports, and I xamt do that on no sleep! Realistically, you've got 5-6 hrs sleeping potential. That's practically a full night!

starabara · 15/01/2019 17:44

Depends how long the flight is, and how much work I have to get done before!

For a lovely long 13hr flight I’d stay up, go to the gym or get stuff done at home. For a short haul when I’m expected to be functional in a meeting two hours after landing, then I’d be in bed st 9pm!

Witchofzog · 15/01/2019 17:44

No try to sleep as you can't assume you will be able to sleep on the plane (turbulence, crying baby behind you etc) and you will need to function when you arrive. Go to bed early at 9ish and you will feel better for it tomorrow

hopeishere · 15/01/2019 17:46

I had to do this recently. I went to bed and slept fairly well until I got up at 3am. I was able to go back to bed about 5am and slept again. I was still very tired the next day though.
