Lump sum maintenance for my child...... any advice?

I am considering renegotiating my (almost complete) divorce as my exh has announced that he will be leaving our country of residence - not UK- soon. He’s in a (very) new relationship and wants to get married ASAP 😳😂
I don’t trust him to pay any maintenance after he leaves this country sadly. He says he will... but legally there will be little I can do as he’s likely to be residing in the Middle East or Europe and it is almost impossible and not worth it to chase.
So... we are also about to sell our matrimonial home. It would be 50/50 split.
It has recently been suggested to me that I change the terms to a lump sum as he may or may not be reliable in his monthly payments.
My child is nearly 10.
Before I go to my lawyer (💲) has anyone negotiated this?
Was it better in the long run? I possibly don’t have too many options really looking at the facts on the table as he’s leaving the country.
Would a lump sum factor in just the weekly payments times (how many weeks/year) or can you include other expenses like yearly holiday contribution, school uniforms , future school requirements like laptops etc.
Anyone who has managed this successfully - I would love any advice. 🙏

You could repost in Legal.

In the uk negotiating a settlement doesn’t release him from paying child support - even if documented (according to the CMS)

I have a family member who left the ex 90% of the house on that basis and 2 years later she went to the CSA who informed him that he was still obliged to pay. This was in 2002 and he is still making payments today
This was done as part of separation via solicitor and he was still liable to pay.
Your country of residence may have different regulations though
