To ask do you celebrate Valentine's Day?

Do you? I've always thought 'Oh no, so silly. I won't be celebrating that rubbish'.

But I thought just now, why not? A nice little excuse for a nice meal with DH and a little gift each perhaps.

Would I be highly unreasonable and lacking in classayness to consider? Grin

No we don't. Just doesn't interest either of us. Dinner out is always a nightmare as it's too busy. I'm not the cheesy romantic type anyway.

A card nothing else. Overhyped and an excuse for restaurants and chocolate makers to try to get us to spend in between Christmas and Mother's Day.

DramaAlpaca · 15/01/2019 21:37

Nope. Too commercialised & we've been married far too long for any of that soppiness Wink

But we got engaged on the 21st February & a few years later had DS on the same date, so we celebrate then.

We like Valentine's Day, usually funny card small gift/flowers and a nice meal out. Don't really care about the commercial side loads of things are over commercialised/over celebrated.

We are very happy in our relationship but it's a good excuse to celebrate it and spend time together. Never been for a meal that's been over crammed or rubbish either. Each to their own.

We do, because it's basically our anniversary. We don't go out for a meal because the restaurants are full and decorated with cheesy tat, but we might go out close to the date for a nice meal, or get a takeaway. We exchange cards and something small - flowers, sweets, etc.

JustHereForThePooStories · 15/01/2019 22:10

Nope. Never celebrated or and just don’t get the hype. We go out a lot anyway, and DH always brings me flowers as we both like them.

I like raiding the flower sections of M&S around the 18th though. Last year, they had bouquets of a dozen red roses reduced to 70p.

We get each other a card and I always buy him some heart shaped haribo sweets. He cooks me a steak. Perfect.
