Trying to hold off until as late in pregnancy as possible, but also desperate to start planning/buying/decorating Blush

The baby does not need a decorated nursery. There is some research suggesting it is not a good idea and that paint gives off some slight vapour for 6 months that may be a factor in childhood asthma/ I just would decorate

After the 20 week scan so could feel confident enough to start planning. I thought it a good idea to make sure all decorating fumes were well and truly gone before the baby moved in.

We didn't move in to our house until I was about 30 weeks so it was all done in a rush after that. I think we finished her room at about 38 weeks and the rest of the house was done by my due date. Thankfully I went a week over!

With first baby we did when I was 6-7 months pregnant which was pointless really as he didn’t even go into it until he was 9 months old.

My second baby is 16 months old and we still haven’t decorated a room for him Grin

Did it when baby was 3 months old and i moved her into her room

With the first, after I got back from a holiday at about 6 months pregnant. Already knew I'd probably need an early c-section so didn't want to be faffing around with furniture or anything after that.

I've just turned 24 weeks with DC2 and we've got structural work happening in the spare room (which will be DC2's nursery) in the next few weeks and the floor is being ripped up so I'll use the opportunity to paint the room. I know the baby will be in with us at first, but I don't want to store all of their clothes in our room, or change them in the middle of the night and risk waking up my sleeping husband (or him me if it's my turn) so I at least want a change table, nursing chair for rocking to sleep and clothes storage in the "nursery".

When dc1 was about 3 months old

When DS was about 8 months old as then husband was storing all his shit DS room. Think of the episode of Only Fools and Horses with Delboy storing the crap in his son's room and Raquel kicking off!!!
