AIBU situation with DS at nursery

Today my DS (3) went to nursery at 12:10 he had lunch at home with me. When it came to snack time at Nursery he ate "a lot of snacks" apparently he told them he hasn't had any breakfast or lunch (very strange don't feel my DS would just come out with that) so I go to pick him up at 15:10 and I get called into the office and said that my DS today has said he hasn't had any breakfast or lunch so we have had to note that down in our system. AIBU to think that is abit harsh to note that down my DS is clearly well looked after my DD also attended this nursery so have known the staff for 6 years. Just feel abit of a shitty parent would like some opinions

Is he underweight?

Better that you feel a bit pissed off with the nursery for being cautious than a child who is genuinely neglected to slip through the net. The nursery have a duty to do this. They probably suspect that your DC has, for whatever reason said wrong thing but on balance they are less worried about upsetting a parent than risking one of the children being harmed. Take consolation in the fact that they take their responsibilities seriously; if they didn't do this you should be looking for a new nursery.

They were absolutely doing the right thing and not insinuating anything merely recording something that in isolation is meaningless but if considered as part of a bigger picture may have meaning.

I (childminder) have recorded all sorts of weird and wonderful things over the years from odd/inappropriate comments to slightly 'off' marks and sores on bodies - I'm confident they were totally innocent as one-offs (otherwise I would have reported them!) so will merely sit on their file but if needed in the future, there's a record.

Hi no he is not underweight. Snacking all the time currently this morning he has gone through Jam on toast a bowl of porridge now on a bag of wotsits we woke up at 8. That's why it baffled me. I also have an inside joke with the nursery workers about the big gingerbread man I always bring up for him when he finishes nursery. Also when he has packed lunch there two other days a week his lunch box is always full!
