To ask, how significant is a heart?

Could I ask your wise opinion on something...I believe hearts in text messages are appropriate for family members and of course SO, husbands, wives, SP, etc...but what would you think if a heart was sent by your SO to a young woman that you have never heard of, let alone met? I am not mad at this point, not sure if I am suscipious, just trying to understand.

Only you can know with regards to your DP. If my DH put a heart in a message to anyone, including me, I'd think he'd been abducted and replaced with a replica.

did you read the sent..but not the inbox????/

Hollygoverylightly · 11/01/2019 17:28

Yes greenpop, I am pretty much the same. Obviously this is an emoji we are talking about, but I do believe that symbols are significant and I use them appropriately. I have know idea what he was answering just saw 'on the 26th' from her and then a thumbs up and a heart from him

I suppose l use hearts quite a lot- like pp can often be just a 'love it!!' response to something funny more than a 'love you'!

Juells · 11/01/2019 17:32

If there was a thumbs up as well the heart is less significant unless the thumbs up was to "I can sneak off an meet you tomorrow for a quickie"

HollowTalk · 11/01/2019 17:32

I would be concerned about this, particularly about him being furious when you raised it.

MollysLips · 11/01/2019 17:34

I guess you'll have to wait till the 26th. It's a Saturday (if they were talking about January).

Juells · 11/01/2019 17:37

She could be getting married.

Rudgie47 · 11/01/2019 17:40

Well if he then sent her a photo of his cock I'd be thinking it was a bit inappropriate.

TokenGinger · 11/01/2019 17:45

It really depends what the words are.

She could have just told him she's pregnant or engaged and he's said that's great news ❤️ She could have just told him her parents have died and he's sending a condolence message.

I'm a PA to a CEO and he's been sick this week. I sent some mocking messages to him yesterday (we send GIFs to each other mostly winding each other up) and he messaged back and said thanks for the sympathy, I knew I could count on you, to which I replied You're welcome 💜💜💜 But intended in a completely sarcastic way.

The context is really important here.

Hollygoverylightly · 11/01/2019 17:53

Thanks for your input, very helpful...and funny 😂 mollyslips, I was just thinking about spending the whole day and night of the 26th on a special day just the two of us 😛

no normal 'real man' - sends emojis they just don't, they are not that bothered.

they will send emojis if their love interest does too, to be fit and up to date enough with her.

poppiesallykatie · 11/01/2019 18:09

a heart is extremely inappropriate

Hmm what a strange thing to say, my DH sends emojis and he is very much a "normal, real man"

CrazyCatMamma · 11/01/2019 19:13

I use a heart almost like a hug if that makes sense. If someone told me bad news, I might reply and add a heart as a hug.
