All advice appreciated!

It's a 2010 Alfa Romeo Mito
Will be my first car & I'm in love with it. Only thing is the mileage. My brother says I can find better for less money and less mileage. But I've been saving for a while now for this purpose & researched somewhat about mileage; the amount doesn't necessarily reflect the condition of the car.
I'll go for a test drive and possibly get it checked out by an independent garage. The car is beautiful imo, dealership says it's been kept in great condition, drives well etc but of course I don't want to waste my money on something that's not going to last long.
What do you guys think?

I’m laughing at 77K being “high mileage”.

I’ve had about 12 cars and vans in my life, I think only one has had less than that - the one that fatally blew a head gasket and the AA said “these are bloody known for it”. All the others ran until I fancied a change or reached my personal view of beyond economic repair.

In my case, price has reflected mileage and I’ve got my money’s worth.

I wouldn’t buy a Mito cos the reviews are crap for reliability. But 77K wouldn’t bother me at all, at the right price.

Current car Ford Fiesta cost under 1k to buy + insurance. It's just about to do 100k miles, still going strong. I've only had a new clutch. Hope it does another 100k miles

OP there is such a load of old tosh being posted on here by people who plainly know zero about cars - please check the car carefully and ensure the price is in line with the market but really some of the utter utter tripe being posted on here is just plain wrong and ignorant.

How is it "old tosh" that alfas are useless? It's the truth. You're a fool if you buy one.

As a guide for price stick the number plate, mileage and service history details into webuyanycar.com

You don’t have to leave your actual details. Just be aware that as they sell through auctions they’ll be a little under the garage forecourt price. But it will give you a guide as to whether you’re being ripped off.

Also, consider buying from auction. Harder to do the checks that you might want, but you can often end up with a good car for a lot less money. Especially if you would be buying outright anyway. If you chose that option then look for cars with a while left on an MOT, rather than buying one that needs one soon.

I think that’s what most people are saying, it’s generally not regarded as high at all, but when you apply it to a car known for its quality issues it is. I’d happily buy a 177k mile Honda for example.

Dh says your problem is its an Alfa. Not the mileage.
He says that as the owner of a 20 yr old vauxhall on 167k miles.
