...to start a boasting thread?

Just a thread for anyone to boast or brag, because if we did it in real life it would be rude and uncouth!

This is mine... I got an overall 91% and 93% on my first semester modules in a uni course - haven;t done a proper exam for around 15 years! :D

what's your boast?

OP posts:
toolazytothinkofausername · 08/01/2019 16:38

Why is telling your family/friends you did well in your exams rude or uncouth? Your family/friends should care about your achievements.

Dartilla · 08/01/2019 16:48

It's not uncouth at all to share your exam successes; what reaction would you normally get from friends/family about your achievements?

Itsmenotyouisntit · 08/01/2019 16:52

I passed both my driving theory and practical test 1st time and it only took me 3 months to learn over all. (Only passed a few months ago so the success is still new Grin) oh and I'll tell anyone who will listen..
Including mumsnet. Go me!! Grin

Fatbutt · 08/01/2019 17:08

I got up this morning, and got to work on time.
I havent shouted at anyone yet either!

wolfmom · 08/01/2019 17:09

I'm finally doing my degree and so far had a 94% and an 84% mark. Absolutely amazed at the 84% as my mental health was awful for the whole topic.

DramaticGoose · 08/01/2019 17:11

I'm starting a new job tomorrow and they asked me to interview and practically begged me to accept their job offer. I took it because it's a lot more money than my old position and they seem like a great company to work for.

tinofbeans · 08/01/2019 17:14

I have a job I love and I'm bloody good at it! DCs are growing into bright and beautiful children, their school reports were exemplary. My husband is amazing and was incredibly supportive during a particularly difficult period in my life. GrinSmileBlushGrin

Flyingfish2019 · 08/01/2019 17:15

I was praised today because my children are polite Smile.

guffaux · 08/01/2019 17:19

I have completed c25k and have continued running 3 x a week for over a year now- and only my dp knows Smile

Theunreasonableone · 08/01/2019 17:22

My first parents evening when DD1 was in Reception the teacher told us that she was the most creatively gifted child she had ever come across. I could have cried with pride

Bluelady · 08/01/2019 17:24

My son posted the kind of accolade most people only get when they're dead to me on Instagram. 😍

allwalkedout · 08/01/2019 17:24

These are all lovely. I wish it was more acceptable to talk about this stuff. I agree with the first comment though - I’d hope your friends and family would love to hear how well you’d done.

Fairyliz · 08/01/2019 17:24

I'm really good at sleeping. I know that doesn't sound like anything to boast about but everyone I have ever told in real life gets really annoyed with me.

MissLanesAmericanCousin · 08/01/2019 17:26

One from the distant past and another from the recent past.

I was severely bullied throughout school. Especially, in high school, (I have ASD) and because of this, I dropped out. Eventually, I took the GED and I scored over 98% higher than the national average who sat the exam. I cried like a baby because I didn't even think I would pass, much less get a high score.

My husband threw a dinner party for me, for my 45th birthday a few months ago, and one of DH's friends thought I was the same age as his girlfriend- she had just turned 30 and looks mid-20's. Both he and his GF's eyes bugged out and their jaws dropped and said WHAAAT!!??
I looked over at DH and he was beaming ear to ear. Grin

What a nice thread!

Btw, congrats OP!!! Flowers

Shockers · 08/01/2019 17:26

I’m rubbish at sleeping atm liz- you be proud!!

PristineCondition · 08/01/2019 17:27

My teenage disabled severely underweight son put on 4 pounds. First time in a year hes not lost weight.

Too insignificant for the doctors but I'm crowing over it

SneakyGremlins · 08/01/2019 17:29

I got an A* in GCSE German aged 11 Grin

PristineCondition · 08/01/2019 17:30

I was praised today because my children are polite smile.

Lovely! I saw a lunchlady at my 8 year olds school in a charity shop recently and she came over to say how well behaved and kind he was. It made my day

ALittleCrisp · 08/01/2019 19:47

My son slept through 7pm to 7am from birth Grin

Love love love it. Can only really share with people close to me though. But I do wish I could brag more about it all.

Oh and he took to breastfeeding like a duck to water. 0 pain whatsoever for me. And I've never been sleepy. Result!

HelenaNightSoilCart · 08/01/2019 19:54

I am proud that despite having having a husband who was emotionally and sexually incontinent and an abusive arsehole to boot, I have managed to raise two fantastic kids. One is at Oxford and the other is representing England at her chosen sport. Oh, and they’re both fab young adults who people like and don’t treat others like fuckwits. Unlike their Dad.

IHeartKingThistle · 08/01/2019 20:01

These are lovely! Well done everybody!

I would like to boast that my DD (12) auditioned for a main part in her theatre group's big production and didn't get it. She got a smaller part with a few lines and some group songs. Several kids have pulled out because they didn't get the lead. My DD is delighted to get lines, absolutely full of it. I'm so proud of her and her lovely attitude.

EssentialHummus · 08/01/2019 20:04

I'm steadily losing weight doing 5:2 and feel really happy with myself.

Dragonfree · 08/01/2019 20:05

I like this thread. It's a really nice positive one.

My boost is that my DS (21 months) can recite and recognise numbers 0 - 12 and the alphabet 😁

Though I'm a little concerned he's going to be the next rainman.... 🤔

puzzledlady · 08/01/2019 20:09

My son has slept through 7-7 since birth. My daughter who is 4 is a free reader. :)

Trampire · 08/01/2019 20:18

My dd (nearly 14) who has always been a very secure, confident girl who actively relished doing things differently from the crowd in Primary school been recently suffering from anxiety and self doubt as a teen. It's hit her like a ton of bricks.

Last month she played the lead role of Rosalind in "As You Like It" at a big proper city theatre as a part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival 2018.

I was beyond proud.
