My dd is 10 but so much of these are true for her too.

Such an unexpectedly lovely thread too - I’ve gone all squishy inside. I used to feel sad about dc growing up and leaving the innocent days behind but now they’re 10 and 11 they are proving to be actual lovely humans - funny, kind, great company etc etc. And this thread has just confirmed all that for some reason.

The fleece blankets - it's an epidemic!!!!

Notebooks, and making small piles of paper which must be cut from larger pieces, thus creating mess constantly.

InternetRandomer I feel the same way. I have 3 daughters - 13, aforementioned 11 year old and a 7 year old. Watching them get older and get into their preteen/teenage years has given me more fun, laughs and joy than I would have thought possible. I've so enjoyed the last two years or so.
