To ask if you’ve had your breast implants removed?

And why? Did you have them replaced? If not, are you happy with how they look now?
I had breast implants almost 10 years ago but they’ve recently become quite hard and painful. I went to see my surgeon who said I have grade 3 capsular contracture. He wants to remove them and not replace them as I am now more prone to further issues.
The reason I got implants in the first place was to correct severe assymetry (one breast an A and one a C) so I’m concerned at what I’m going to be left with. My surgeon thinks as I’m young my skin should retract well and I’ve had children since so hormone changes may have helped my smaller breast develop.
The other option he gave me would be to remove my implants then 6 months later uplift them to make them a similar size but that would mean more scarring/longer recovery time/two seperate surgeries and I’d ultimately be left with two very small breasts.
I appreciate my surgeons honesty and the fact he’s thinking about my wellbeing long term rather than just making money but I’m just struggling to make a decision and come to terms with the fact my appearance is going to have to change so much.

Boobs are boobs- If they are affecting your health, get them removed. Simple as.

If only it was as simple as that Mary Hmm

I’d go for the uplift.. I had an uplift & implants and the scarring isn’t too awful. Took about 2/3 weeks to be able to do normal things..

Thanks Bae Did you have both procedures in one go? I’m just reluctant to have two separate surgeries and the surgeon doesn’t recommend me having replacement implants so I’ll be going from a D to an A/B Sad

I did, yes. I went to a fantastic surgeon called Dr Plovier at B Clinic in Brussels. He has his consultations in Harley St. Maybe get a second opinion from him?

Thanks I’ll check him out.

Hi there, please don’t be sad! I work in the industry and you could undergo removal & fat transfer to breasts. You would need to be around dress size 12 to have enough depending on the cc of your current implants and more fat would be implemented into the the breast with less natural breast tissue to help balance the asymmetry.

DeflatedBalloons · 11/01/2019 13:19

Booskina I did look into that as an option but I read that you can only go up 1/2-1 cup size using fat transfer and my breasts are at least 2 cup sizes different. Also the fat can be reabsorbed by the body so its not a permanent solution.

Hi I’m
Interested to know what you did in the end. I’m in a similar situation. My implants are 17 yes old. Had them done due to one breast not developing at all. Nor they are u comfortable/sore and feel like they have rippled (if that makes sense). I don’t know what to do about it for the same reasons as you plus financially I can’t afford anything. A decision I made at 19 & now regret but psychologically at the time it was right for me.
