Last night left my 8 month old to cry for 30m.
I thought DH was attending to him, when it had been 30m I got up to help and realized DH was asleep and DS was crying his eyes out.

Don’t beat yourself up over it. I am sure your baby will never remember it. If you drive with a baby unfortunately it can happen often:

These things happen. It was a one off, no harm done at all. Although how your DH slept through it is a mystery.

Don't worry OP. He won't remember Smile

Don't beat yourself up! When my daughter was just a few weeks old, my husband took charge so I could have a bath. After 10 mins constant crying I got out the bath to find my husband snoring away next to our crying baby. I was mortified that I didn't just get out the bath sooner! But if that's the worst thing you've done, You are doing pretty damn good!

My dh can sleep through anything if tired so I can see how it happened

Hidingtonothing · 07/01/2019 20:08

Yep, happened to my DD too (I also have a DH who could sleep through anything), she's now a perfectly well adjusted 10 year old, no lasting damage Smile I still remember how awful I felt at the time though so sending a sympathetic hug, honestly though it's happened to lots of us, don't beat yourself up Flowers

I did this - husband had gone outside, he warned me but I forgot, crying got louder and louder, couldn't understand why and after about 10 minutes realised he wasn't there and ran upstairs to scoop up a totally desperate baby who has never had to cry that long before Blush. I'm not sure who was in more of a state! She's unaffected though.

Wholovesorangesoda · 07/01/2019 20:12

Yanbu to feel bad about it, as in it has upset you because you didn't realise your dd was alone working themself into a state.
Having said that, don't feel bad about it. In the scheme of things, it was nothing!!

Skinandbones · 07/01/2019 20:59

My dd2 used to scream all the time, I was told by the hv that as long as they can't hurt themselves to leave them. She now 28 and she never shuts up.

Thank you for your messages. Maybe I'm projecting but thought his little face looked so hurt when I went to pick him up.. Sad
