Just wanted to share with you...
I'm a wife, mum and luckily working very part time... I lead a relatively happy life but cannot beat sleeplessness.
Thanks for reading at this time of the night.

He starts a new job tomorrow so I'm being more generous than usual with my pokes and roll overs. Haha

Aquamarine1029 · 07/01/2019 03:10

How old are you, op? Insomnia is a VERY common symptom of perimenopause and it can be treated.

ISmellBabies · 07/01/2019 03:14

PossibiloTea someone irrelevant I suppose, good point, thank you. Felicitycity I definitely will follow your advice and put the phone down, just as soon as it runs out of battery!

brizzledrizzle · 07/01/2019 03:20

Tell me about it, I have to be up at 6am and haven't been to sleep yet.
I came down to make a cup of tomato soup (no idea why) and realised how tired I was when I dipped a ginger nut in it.
Don't try this at home kiddies!

BlueBinDay · 07/01/2019 03:24

I got into bed at 11.30pm and have laid awake till now. I've come downstairs to brew some camomile and mint tea. It's the same almost every night. DH falls asleep within 5 minutes of laying his head on the pillow (although tonight he was fast asleep in front of the TV when I came down I thought, how ridiculous. Him downstairs asleep, me upstairs awake)
Then I'm knackered all the next day, struggling not to doze off, then as soon as I go to bed PING! I'm wide awake again.
Thank you. It was good to get that off my chest.

PossibiliTea · 07/01/2019 03:30

Omjeeez I really do need to sleep I’m driving myself nuts

brizzledrizzle · 07/01/2019 03:31

That's me. I had an hour of sleep last night so why haven't I been to sleep yet? Back off to bed now in the hope I get some before the alarm goes off at 6. First day back at work tomorrow Angry

Hope you get some sleep.

LearningMySelfWorth · 07/01/2019 03:34

Sort of, took my sleeping tablets ages ago now exhausted but can’t sleep because I’ve moved back into my uni house and my asthma has flared up because I’ve changed my bed. Dosed to the eyeballs with inhalers and antihistamines and still can’t sleep because I can’t breath. Need to get some sleep so I can do some final cramming for an exam I have tomorrow afternoon Sad

categed · 07/01/2019 03:41

Another here too.

Feeing itchy all over, like glass wool being rubbed into skin, taken antihistamines but no joy yet. I average just over 3h of broken sleep a night but back to work tomorrow after very little sleep over Christmas is not so good.
Hope you all get some sleep.

Letsmoveondude · 07/01/2019 03:42

Me too. I’m up at 6 am!

Passmeagin · 07/01/2019 03:45

I'm up to. Like pp I have bipolar and struggle with sleep a lot. School run in the morning. Yay

WhirlieGigg · 07/01/2019 03:59

The baby wakes me up, then he quickly goes back to sleep, and just as I’m nearing sleep he wakes me up again! I’ve been in bed for seven hours and still haven’t been allowed to go to sleep Sad

DrCristinaYang · 07/01/2019 04:02

Wide awake in bed watching Grey's Anatomy, in such a bad sleep routine atm :(

Atchiclees · 07/01/2019 04:03

I’m awake too. My body clock is all messed up. Think I am dehydrated too but scared to have a glass of water as will spend the next hour thinking I need a wee and then not needing to go, will fall asleep and wake up needing that wee. Confused

Ifigotherewillbedouble · 07/01/2019 04:09

Another insomniac here - I really don’t sleep well at all anyway but routine is all to pot with the holidays. DDs are back to school and college Tomo but youngest has a temp and cough so will let her rest at home. DH has already been sent to sleep on sofa - he’s another one who is asleep soon as his head hits the pillow, and we went to bed at 9 tonight to watch You on Netflix, he still fell asleep! 3-4 hours then of nudging him and asking him to turn over before I just lost the plot and he’s on the couch.

Think everyone has their own issue's sleeping sometimes, mine are various, one minute fall asleep in the day, usually from not sleeping for nights on end, (like now), Think iv'e got to many issue's going on in my head, with my health at the moment, so I think I actually know, what's keeping me from sleeping, (over thinking things), then through the day I try to stay awake, not often I fall asleep during day, but I still don't get sleep for days on end, tried hot milk with sugar, tried not looking at TV or computer screens before going to bed , dark room, dim lighted room, generally tried everything.
Personally I think it's what you have on your mind, worries, appointments, generally worrying about something you may have to do, that you really hate, eg, filling in forms, hospital appointments, so in all, my experience is that, the more I fret about sleeping , on top of whatever is on my mind, the worse sleep I have, even though I try to convince myself relax, just have to put this down to, when I need sleep exhausted usually, I will have a good few nights, then hopefully my batteries will recharge.

lljkk · 07/01/2019 04:57

Not sleeping is so F'd up. I can blow off today, but tomorrow I want to go to work in normal hours. Weanhhhhhhh!!!

AGHHHH · 07/01/2019 05:04

Yeah my sleep has been fucked for a solid month now! Going to bed around 8am and waking up when it's dark. I'm not seeing daylight!

brizzledrizzle · 07/01/2019 06:55

No sleep at all, just about to make a strong coffee and head in.
fingers tonight is better for everybody.

AGHHHH · 07/01/2019 07:05

Still awake. I feel like shit! Back at uni today as well. Argh.

BlueBinDay · 07/01/2019 08:26

Last time I looked at the clock it was 6.25am, alarm was set for 8am.
I must have had an hour and a half. Naturally feel like shit now and I could sleep on a washing line. Stuff to do though, stuff to do.

I hope this means some sleep tonight.

brizzledrizzle · 07/01/2019 08:28

On my second coffee. Just found out we've got an audit tomorrow...can't wait. Time to go and do some work.

LearningMySelfWorth · 07/01/2019 08:45

Managed to fall asleep at my desk at 7, just after turning off my alarms. Apparently they're a signal to fall asleep. Woke up now with my chest sore and tight, like a band is being tightened around it which isn't a great sign and my throat burning and raw from the coughing. More inhalers and antihistamines and hoping for the best. Exam is at 2 so I need to bash through the extra revision, but if my chest continues to get worse I'll be in A+E at some point today, which sucks as it's a housemates birthday and were supposed to be getting fish and chips, watching a film and playing board games like he's requested.

BovrilOverkillOhMyInsides · 07/01/2019 09:22

I was up til half three but didn't see this thread.

having a giant Costa soya hot chocolate, then going home and back to bed.

Mega insomnia at the moment. When I moved, the new docs wouldn't prescribe melatonin til I've seen their adhd clinic.

So I don't sleep.

LearningMySelfWorth · 07/01/2019 09:51

Debating doing no revision and having some more sleep OR doing my revision and hoping I can get some sleep just before the exam and then some more afterwards before we celebrate my housemates bday.
