To love being on my own?

My in laws have my 2 kids most Sundays for a sleepover as that works best for them and our childcare routine. Occasionally my DH will stay over with them as sometimes he works in an area which is closer to his parents house.

I gave myself a massive dose of mum guilt when I realised I actually love being in the house all by myself. I am happily married and the kids are the absolute lights of my life of course. But I love being on my own. I'm ashamed of myself!!

Thank you all. It's so nice to know that I'm not 'weird' you have all really helped Smile

YANBU, there is nothing nicer than peace and quiet.

Just coming back to add that I love my alone time so much, that everyone else in my life has a really tough time competing with it! Apart from dd Smile
Also, its the first time in my life that I've really taken stock of who I am, what I want, and who I genuinely want to interact with. I'd recommend extended periods of solitude to everyone, its so good for the soul imo.

I absolutely adore time alone. It always makes me feel better. With a young family it is very, very rare for me to be left home alone but I try to give me DW that whenever I can and I think it helps her.

I think people who can’t be away from their kids are weirdos with control issues.
