To ask you for your ways to decrease anxiety naturally?

I've been plagued by it for 2 years since some trauma in my life. I tried therapy and it did help but I felt uncomfortable at it so stopped after two sessions.

I wondered if anyone had any tips on how to make it better?

I am not sure what you class as natural but I've seen people have good results from st johns wort. Could be worth a try. Or a CBT workbook so you can work through it without having to talk to someone about it?

I did cbt. I found one simple method very effective. Write down the worry. Then around it write down all the small worries linked with it. Then write down all the reasons why it won’t happen. By the end I always feel much better!!

im sure you are aware of the following, but they have all helped me: running, walking outside especially in woodland (see tree bathing ), meditation, reflexology. mind you I found citalopram a huge help as well.

Exercise and mindfulness helps me. Also being open with those around me when it's bad really helps xx

I use cannabis and spend my days beachcombing
The time alone, outside, getting exercise and the thc all work together.
It means I can be unguarded for a bit

Counselling and exercise definitely help. But Prozac (low dose) got rid of it almost entirely.

I saw it recommended somewhere to take Vit B12, Vitamin D and fish oils. I have been taking these 3 for some time and feel they have really helped with anxiety. I have also made other life changes as well though so it's hard to know what exactly is helping.

I’m sorry but of course therapy is uncomfortable. I think you are unreasonable to stop after two sessions. Did you expect to get sorted straight away?

I’ve done counselling, CBT and now hypnotherapy. CBT was HARD. To the point where I couldn’t function for the days I had my appointments. But it got better. I promise you it got better.

Singing!
There's been studies recently that prove it's really good for anxiety sufferers.

Singing in a community, specifically, is beneficial. See if there's a local community choir you can join?

I found giving up caffeine and alcohol, and staying well hydrated work quite well for me.

It's not gone, but I no longer take medication.

Magnesium and Vitamin D supplements really helped me. Also, regular yoga and getting a dog! Long dog walks and the unconditional love you get from a pet are very calming.

Getting myself to do 30 mins of some kind of exercise a day- could be going for a 30 min walk, doing a 30 min class at the gym, doing yoga, doing exercises from the app 7M- I tell myself that it doesn't matter what exercise I do as long as I do my 30 mins a day. Doing this has genuinely really helped with my anxiety- sometimes when I get a tummy ache from feeling stressed and anxiety, I'll purposely go do a 30 min class at the gym and the tummy ache is forgotten about by the end.
Also yoga itself and the Headspace meditation app has helped me separate myself from my worries rather than them feeling all-consuming

Thank you! I notice exercise comes up lots. I'm starting a proper effort to exercise from this evening so I'll see if that helps.

Running has helped me through hard times. It has been invaluable for my mental health through a recent bereavement and the terminal illness that ran up to that.

Another vote for no alcohol + running/gym/any type of exercise.

Also perhaps try apps such as calm/headspace (I've recently tried and seem to be working)

Personal planner/bullet journal/whatever works for you. No, this is not a joke. Being organised helps with my anxiety a lot

Oh OP, it's awful isn't it?
For me -
sunlight, (particularly in a green space/next to nature)
exercise (particularly trail running/getting up hills)
good diet with enough healthy fats (this has been a big one for me)
getting involved in a good novel (swap out tv for a good book)

Another vote for exercise- but don’t overdo it. I found pushing yourself too hard has the opposite effect. What worked for me was power walking - fast enough to get out of breath but slow enough that you can keep the pace for 20 - 30 mins. If some days you don’t have a spare half hour please just do 10 minutes or whatever you can... some exercise is better than none!
Saying that, I’ve hardly had the time since having a baby over a year ago and my anxiety Is creeping back in...

I don't have "anxiety" as such, but I'm an anxious personality type, and prone to worrying, and feeling a bit overwhelmed by life.

I've found the best way for me to feel relaxed is to concentrate on being organised, keeping one step ahead and never leaving things to the last minute. I need a tidy, organised house, where I can find the things I need. I need to use lists to keep on top of things - meal planners/shopping lists for food, budget planners and regular time set aside to look at bank accounts, holiday planners with associated regular savings accounts, keeping the calendar always up to date, to do lists etc. Basically I need to keep on top of everything, and when organised, that's easy to do. This reduces any worry from day to day activities, and puts me in a better head space to deal with any curve balls life throws at me.

Since having a big declutter and adopting these organisation strategies, I feel much happier and less anxious. I'm never running round like a headless chicken anymore.

CBD oil has really helped me! I even managed to sleep the day before a court case and had maybe 10%anxiety of what I would normally have

I jacked my job.

The toxic negativity and constant belittling by office bitches made things 100 X worse.

I haven’t had a single panic attack in 5 months now. I have not been in A&E at all in all that time.

I had no idea how destructive that environment had been for me.

Now I do a physical job that is busy so I don’t have to interact with people and can get a chance to judge if I can trust them.

I run every day (52 miles since the 1st of Jan) and have also stopped drinking.

My DP says I am a new woman. My friends actually cried when they told me how changed I am - they were so happy for me.
