My baby has slept for 6 hours and is still asleep...

My baby is 11 weeks old tomorrow (OMG!) and he doesn't sleep usually for more than 2 hours at a time. He sleeps more at night than during the day but isn't a good sleeper.

I put him down for a nap a 10 this morning. He's still asleep. I've actually tried waking him when I changed his nappy but he's STILL asleep and wouldn't wake up. He has fed in his sleep, threw up a bit, cried for 10 seconds, then went back to sleep.

Why do I feel weird about it? Is this normal? If so how do I get him to do it at night?!

Hope my little man is ok.

I was formula fed and didn't sleep through the night until I went to school. My also formula fed TWIN brother slept through from 12 weeks.

Different babies do different things. Shock.

Aquilla my son was ebf, slept like a log from very young (and still does). Feeding has nothing to do with it, all babies are different

Hi OP, how is your little boy today?
Sorry for all the nasty, insensitive comments you have received.
I'm glad you spoke to a GP, I hope it did reassure you a lot.
What I will say is, if a baby sleeps a lot during the day, they sleep better at night.

You did the right thing to ask for a professional opinion, and it's natural to worry xx

Looks like this thread was me-railed by Aquilla and her twatty comments.

Thanks @KylieJennersTopLip and @EcklesCakes for asking.

He's been the same. He slept all night and slept most of the day again today. I think he must be having a growth spurt.

I do still worry but that's likely just my anxiety...

It's not anxiety, you're a new mum and you care! The love for a new baby is unlike anything else and it's good to worry, you can never be too careful with such a tiny little package of love.
