Travel at 34 weeks pregnant

Not sure if I'm having a mad five minutes... would I be unreasonable to consider a weekend to Paris with DH at 34 weeks pregnant. Is this it's a bad idea? Or good to have one last trip before we head into parenthood?

I am having a pretty good run right now, currently 29 weeks with no complications, although some occasional braxton hicks (since 20 weeks). We would be able to get a train there and back (about 4 hours from where we live), so can walk around etc on the journey. I will of course consult my doctor on our next appt before hand, but has anyone else travelled this far within the last trimester with no problems? This is my first DC.

I flew to Malaysia at 32 weeks pregnant for a 2 week holiday. The travel itself was uncomfortable but otherwise I loved those 2 weeks and wasn't held back by being pregnant.

I paid for excellent specialist travel insurance with ravenhall As they cover costs of a newborn as well the mother, unlike most insurers. They also covered to cost of cancellation if due to pregnancy

I think I did possibly around 32 weeks, certainly we went to Venice quite late in my pregnancy and I waddled miles, aided by a lot of ice creams. Paris is probably even better, as they have excellent hospitals should the need arise and there is no need to fly.
I don’t think Eurostar refuses to take heavily pregnant women but you should check I guess, and you will need good insurance and an EHIC (I think you are going before Brexit?). I’d had a tricky pregnancy (for me, not for the baby) as my blood pressure was v high and had to be medicated in the end. When I asked the GP about Venice he had just signed me off work for a fortnight in the hope of getting my BP down (was a corporate lawyer, so work was quite hard) and he thought a little holiday was an excellent idea!

I wouldn't because my friends told me that travelling when heavily pregnant is very uncomfortable. I guess it also depends on your means of travel, taking the ferry to calais might be fine but I wouldn't fly.

Wow @Bambamber, Malaysia! That sounds amazing! I'm envisaging lots of beautiful beaches and spa treatments!! ...

I would be travelling from Switzerland, so no worries about Eurostar or ferry for us (just a very fast TGV), good call on the insurance though, as we have private medical (as is mandatory here) I'm covered abroad, but not sure if that would extend to if I needed to cancel the trip entirely!
