4 year old DD1 caught the norovirus doing the rounds and was ill Tuesday and Wednesday relentlessly. Obviously very little sleep for either of us. I was so careful about hand washing etc but still managed to catch it. DD2 is ebf. Managed as best I could but it was hell. On the plus side I’ve now mastered bf using a sling.
Dp was wonderful and helped as much as he possibly could but sadly cannot bf Grin and the 4 year old is still a bit wiped out and clingy and just wanted me.
Haven’t been sick since lunch time and I think I’m through the worst. Lying in bed with the dc’s feeling like a wet rag.
Dp came in an hour ago and I said I might try and eat something in a bit. He told me to stay where I was and he would go and grab me something.
Lay down expecting toast or crackers or something that a normal person would eat after a stomach bug. Must have fell asleep because he came in with a tray. On that tray? Fucking chilli and rice with nachos and jalapeños!
What the actual fuck was going through his mind when he thought that would be a good idea

I can appreciate he thought he was doing a nice thing bringing you your favourite meal when you are well, but surely he knows after vomiting bug it's plain dry foods only, like toast?

I hope you're feeling better soon. And that your DH doesn't get it next. I remember having a norovirus type bug when dc was a little baby, breastmilk was the only thing he wanted and I felt so drained and lifeless already, was awful.

GaryBaldbiscuit · 05/01/2019 19:57

Did he think it would hurry the norovirus out of you?

Veterinari · 05/01/2019 19:57

I’n pretty Sure the OP was being lighthearted and it’s pretty clear from her OP and subsequent posts that she and her DP have a good partnership.

Can’t believe how humourless some posters are on here!

MakeItAmazing · 05/01/2019 19:58

Maybe he thought the heat would kill off the bug…

Justaboy · 05/01/2019 20:16

had this a while ago, immodium tabsl I thinbk they were stopped the shall we say nusiance part of it right away!.

diddl · 05/01/2019 20:16

"Seriously, do the (few) people defending the DP not know what norrovirus is?!?"

I wondered that.

I'm guessing he doesn't!

Why would a woman be expected to know better but not a man?

MitziK · 05/01/2019 20:24

I would think the copious quantities of vomit and shit being expelled by the sufferers over the last couple of days would be a clue to the meaning of Norovirus - to all but the most stupid, anyway.

norfolkandchanceyou · 05/01/2019 20:36

Even my 13 year old son laughed knowing how inappropriate that was!

I can beat this. I had norovirus a few years ago, ill for days, didn't eat a thing and so weak. On the first day I felt well enough to try and eat some scrambled egg on toast DH came in with some tissue paper he'd used to wipe dds bum and said I should take a look at it there was something wrong with her poo. It was bright green because she'd had blue food colouring in icing. He was genuinely baffled as to what my problem was and why I went fucking ballistic at him AngryEnvyHmm
