PDA - Is it too much?

Lighthearted really but...

My sister met her current partner a year ago, she's absolutely lovely and fits in so well with our family.

However, the PDA is too much! They can never sit apart, they have to sit on top of each other or between each other's legs. They constantly kiss each other's necks, or any part of the body they can reach (obviously within reason Grin), they will feed each other at the dinner table and 'argue' about who loves each other the most.

Don't get me wrong, I'm so glad they're so happy and we all enjoy spending time with them but it's not just us is it? The PDA is too much. It's CONSTANT! I don't mind people showing affection but this can get to the point where it needs to be done away from others, they were full on kissing as we were all clearing the dinner table the other day and it can sometimes feel awkward.

I'm not being unreasonable to think there's a time and a place right? My DP and I are affectionate towards each other, but not so it's awkward to those around us 😂

It's attention seeking.
I'd avoid them.

Are they very young?

Dorabean · 05/01/2019 11:57

No, they're late 20's! That's what makes it a bit more Awkward, it's not like they're teenagers!

Every time it gets to much id jokingly but loudly day ugggh get a room. Hopefully they'll catch on.

I'd be having a word in private.

It's embarrassing and unnecessary, to that extent.

It's usually a sign of insecurity.

Dorabean · 05/01/2019 13:51

That's something I hadn't thought of @Birdsgottafly. Insecurity could be a factor I suppose. It gets to the point where enough is enough, we make jokes about it but obviously something more has to be said a bit more seriously!
