Now I certainly know it's not the worst procedure to have done, far from it... but I'm absolutely shitting myself.
I need to have one done on Monday....

Anyone here had one done? Is it as bad as I'm imagining?

I'm having one under a general soon. Sad

SachaStark · 02/10/2019 19:07

God, I would far rather HAVE a general if I ever had to have one again. At least then you don’t have to actually experience it.

Urgh, the bit at the beginning when they tell you that you have to swallow the camera, but your throat is numb, so you’ve forgotten what the fuck swallowing even is...

Notsure1978 · 02/10/2019 19:15

I had one without sedation. Fml... never again. Accept as much sedation as they will offer you!
I am only telling you this because my friend said it will be fine and I have never forgiven her

I've had two. I have A LOT of sedation because I have PTSD and feeling choked/things down the thoat are a huge trigger for me. I would refuse to have it without sedation. NFW. A lot of people fall asleep on sedation.

but the nurse held me in a gentle, reassuring hug, stroked me and encouraged me. I was lying on my left side. The nurse was behind me.

That sounds really inappropriate. I would have flipped out at that, JFC, that's just so not on to randomly do to someone, especially from behind.

I'd have one with GA in a heartbeat.
