Aibu to think school should secure their boundary

Hi looking for opinions. Happy to be told I'm wrong as I have no idea!

We live next to a school. We live on a residential estate and the school is in the middle of the estate.
Our property runs adjacent to the school carpark at the front of our house and adjacent to the school field at the back.

The boundary is trees which shed leaves in the winter and leaves huge gaps a grown man could walk straight through. You can also see right through into the school and they can see us.
We fenced on our side the length of the back garden but the front is harder to do and has the biggest gaps. The fence posts are in the middle of their trees so would have to rip it all out, plus it will cost us a fortune to fence our side if we can do it at all. I'm concerned about security for the school and also for our property. They also don't maintain the trees properly, cutting once a year and missing a lot of ours.
Am I able to request that they make their boundary more secure or is there no requirement for this? Pic attached to see the massive gaps

It might be ok in a small school but in a 3 form entry city school where the whole school is outside with 2 or 3 lunchtime supervisors it would be impossible to keep the children safe in an unfenced space.

I think it probably should be secured as you're in a residential area.

I work in a rural independent school and our site cannot possibly be secured - people could get in across fields, through woods or up the very long drive. The buildings are secured but there's no way of fencing off the entire site; it's huge.

Nicknacky. Would that be the Trump thread?

Nicknacky · 03/01/2019 20:37

apollo Doubtful😂! It was a while ago and I have a feeling it may have been a thread about Dunblane. I feel terrible that I can’t remember what the exact subject was but I was struck by your sympathy and strength.

ApolloandDaphne · 03/01/2019 20:38

Possibly. I've spoken about it a few times on here but I name change from time to time.

Nicknacky · 03/01/2019 20:41

I don’t know why I said sympathy when I meant dignity.

If the front of your house is adjacent to the school car park though, surely unaccompanied children won't be there so it isn't a safeguarding risk.

If I have misunderstood and the front of your house is adjacent to an area where children are able to play freely then no YANBU.
