Just wondering if you lovely people could help? I have been given £50 as a Christmas gift and need to spend it soon so that I can tell the person who gave it to me what I have bought. But I am clueless as what to buy! AIBU in asking you to give me some ideas? I’m late 30’s busy working mum with no time for hobbies? Any ideas?

Don't just spend for the sake of it, say thank you very much for the cash and that you're keeping it back for something special.

I wouldn't expect a breakdown of what you bought, the cash was your gift so that's what you thank them for surely?!

Although I did but myself a lovely Lumio cheaper alternative lamp that I've been admiring for my coffee table with some vouchers I received :o

I got an unexpected £50 before Christmas. I spent it on an electric screwdriver and replacement heads! Not glamorous but I wanted one. Tonight I've just built a flat packed a wardrobe with it.

I was given money from the OH's parent. I used it to buy a cashmere Barbour scarf. I have been eyeing it up for ages but would never have spent the money on it ordinarily. So I used the money from them and took it to show them

if you don’t have a cleaner, put it towards a soring clean for the house? Frees up a lot of your and partners time, so for me tbe most valuable present ever!

30ml of Jo Malone perfume then a peaceful coffee with the remaining £3!
