To have snapped at my father

Yesterday me and my family went out for NYE. We were getting picked up from my parents house by a family friend (I don't live there). I was ready and all I had to do was pop my coat on when our lift arrived. So it arrived and my dad rushed out the door and he said hi to our friend. I was popping my coat on and my DF was going come in a very impatient tone, I just said I need to put my coat on. He then said to his friend ah you know what women are like in a very sarcastic tone. And then shouted at me come on woman, what you doing. I werent even taking long 30secs max. Thought he was being so rude and even my DM shot a look to him. So I snapped and said I'm getting my coat on no need to speak to me like that.
My mum then stepped in and said he's only having "banter". But by the tone of his voice he was not.
For info my dad can be subtly sexist which i hate as I believe woman can be Independent of men. My DM has always been a house wife so at his beckon call. So was I being unreasonable to snap at that?

YANBU. Call him out on it every time.

Doesyour mum drive and do you want to learn? I found learning to drive was a great 2 finger salute to sexists in my family.

YANBU, he was being a knob. Absolutely right to call him out on it. Would he be receptive if you had a proper chat about respect?

Thanks. Think my DM is scared of his temper. Especially when he goes out and has a drink but tbh I don't want to stand there and be spoken to like rubbish. My DM has then made me feel it was my turn for not take a "joke" his tone was not jokey though
