I recently got gifted an Alexa and have rediscovered my love of The Beautiful South, Texas and Jon bon Jovi. Bands that never quite made it over to my phone's playlist for some reason. AIBU to ask for your favourite bands/songs that you could listen to for hours?

@thehobbitmum I love Gaz Brookfield, although never quite got into ferocious dog, do you go to any festivals by any chance?

A bit of a random selection but I’d say my most played artists are:

Kate Rusby (folk)
Terrorvision (britrock)
Faithless (dance)
The Hilltop Hoods (hiphop)
Passenger (singer/songwriter)
Rudimental (drum & bass)
The King Blues (ska/punk/pop)

You can't beat a bit of Abba Smile

For something more up to date, Isaac Gracie is currently on my playlist: he sends tingles down my spine Blush

TheHobbitMum · 07/01/2019 08:57

@FutureDays sadly we don't go to many festivals at the moment (can be costly as we're a large family) but do see Gaz and others a lot as they are local-ish to me. Any recommendations for festivals?

Atm I have a Stone Sour playlist. I picked out the more "mellow" songs rather than the more Slipknotty ones, and I can listen to it for hours.

primoestate · 09/01/2019 06:07

Van Morrison.
Diana Krall.
Just discovered some old Georgie Fame that I'm loving.

FutureDays · 09/01/2019 20:28

@thehobbitmum ah cool, it's because Gaz Brookfield and ferocious dog are quite popular amongst the crowd at beautiful days festival that I thought you might be a fellow beautiful days festival attendee.

I can recommend beautiful days (devon) and bearded theory (derby)

I love artists from older eras, lots of soul- sam cooke, marvin gaye, the supremes, otid redding, and adore country music, dolly parton, pistol annies, shania twain, also love 90s r n b, any kind of ibiza-esque music which has saxophones in it, and adore a good old power ballad-love the band Heart, celine dion. Then can't beat rock- def leppard, bon jovi, bread, and classics like elvis, roy orbison, abba, kirsty mccoll. A real mix depending on my mood!

MiniTheMinx · 09/01/2019 20:41

zukiecat Jethro Tull Smile love it. Ian Anderson is such a talented writer and musician.

Dead Kennedys
Ian Dury
Violent femmes
New York dolls

Listening to now Oi Polloi a brilliant Scottish left wing anarcho punk band.
