To say I can't wait to go back to work tomorrow?

Single mum with dd(3.6), no contact with her dad. We've had a lovely Christmas with family and everything but dd is bouncing off the walls ready to go back to nursery. And honestly I need a break from her too. And that's saying something as I am a nursery nurse!
She is currently jumping up and down naked on the sofa 🤦‍♀️
Genuinely looking forward to going back and having my routine and focus back. Anyone else?

Routine and focus is great. Can't wait too. Our body clocks are messed up. Weird sleeping times and too much food.

Although I have enjoyed dd staying asleep til half 7

My 2 year old is back at nursery tomorrow and Thursday. I'm not back at work until next Tuesday and my husband on Monday. We are both looking forward to a break from the toddler - she's great but we could do with some time to ourselves!

I'm with you. DS misses his friends at nursery & we all need the usual routine back now.

YANBU
Really looking forward to my 3.7 year old going back to nursery tomorrow. DH also at work.

essexmum2019 · 01/01/2019 18:59

YANBU - I have my clothes set out already!

Same here, will be happy to get my routine back.

indianbackground · 01/01/2019 19:08

Yes. I’ve enjoyed it but will be grateful to be back in my own flat and in routine again.

Tomorrow is my first day back at work after a year off on maternity. And DDs first day at nursery. While I'm struggling with the idea of being apart from her, I'm more than excited for some adult conversation and being able to do something other than "mum" things for a few hours a day!

My DC are 9 & 6 and I am really sad at the thought of them going back to school on Thursday but that's because they can now spend hours entertaining themselves, go off on play dates with friends, have friends over and then do their own thing with no involvement from me and get up by themselves in the morning. The rest of the time, we have some fab times together. When they were pre-schoolers, I was always so pleased when they went back.

We are all adults in my house. Dc 30 and 24. They have been working a bit through Christmas period but other than go to the pub, clean and drive people places I 've done nothing.
Back at work 7th and I can't wait to feel normal again ( and know which day of the week it is).
