Repairing a trophy

hmmhohmmm · 01/01/2019 16:53

DS won a trophy at his sport last year

I think and DS swears that probably it did have a chip in when he was given it but either way if we've caused it or if it was chipped when we got it I would like to repair it before it does back to the club for next years ceremony

Anyone have any idea where does that sort of thing and an idea of cost?

I can't just replace as on the back it has other winners engraved Confused

I did a quick Google search for Trophy Repair and it brought up 3 places near to me that do it. Probably worth doing a search yourself and then contacting one or more to discuss what you need doing and how much it might cost.

try a jewellers. no idea of cost, though.

What is it made of?

hmmhohmmm · 01/01/2019 16:59

Looks like some kind of clear plaster or resin with bronze/grey coating

Might be worth trying Timpsons in that case? (If Google fails Grin)

It won't be unique. Take to trophy shop. They can replace the top bit (it will only be screwed to the base)

Ask the club first though. If you believe DS then they should too. They might not need it fixed. And they may have a preferred trophy shop.

No it's like a plaque trophy thing... not a cup

It won't be unique but the names engraved on the back can't be replaced really I don't think - they're on the actual back of the medallion/plaque/trophy thing

A good trophy shop can do some pretty amazing jobs. Our club had an old perpetual trophy that was full, and they managed to keep the old plaques and turn it into a new one. It's pretty standard stuff for a trophy shop to do.

Go to a trophy shop. No point asking anyone in Trafford or parts of North London as they will have forgotten what a trophy is.
