AIBU to get my 2.5 YO DD a mid-sleeper?

Happy New Year MN!

DH and I want to decorate DD's room as it's the same as it was when we moved in. ATM she still sleeps in a cot 7pm-7am.

We were thinking of getting a mid sleeper, the ones which have steps rather than a ladder, to save some space and have storage underneath. We would get a bed rail too so she doesn't roll out.

Do any of your toddlers have a mid sleeper? Or am I being completely stupid? I've attached a pic of the sort of bed we're thinking of.

Too young. Ours went in one at 4. She was a bit young but we were desperate for more space in her tiny room. She has fallen out of it once or twice in a year.

Thanks for your replies we're leaning towards the Ikea bed and getting the trofast that can be used as stairs when she's old enough :)

My parents put me in mid sleeper around the same age and I fell out the first night & broke my wrist. Maybe wait a little longer?

I was looking at these recently and saw the minimum age was 6 years. So I abandoned that plan for my 4 yo. So definitely wouldn't for a 2 yo

Nope. Ds (just two) is a sleep walker. And would absolutely enjoy throwing himself off it for shits and giggles.

I think it completely depends on the child. We got one for my son when he was 3 and he loved it and we never had any issues. He's now six and his younger brother is 3 and I would never get one for him, he'd definitely fall. I think you know your child and what will suit them best..
