I've had one for Christmas and I want to use it. So far I've cooked not very good chips and very good parsnips.

Please share your successes.

We're trying to make chips in ours tonight

Roast potatoes are better in the air fryer than the oven.

All kid crap like nuggets cook well in one

Chicken
Bacon
Sausages
Haloumi
Chips
Jacket potatoes (microwave first then the air fryer makes the skin crispy)

My ex had one and we used it to make chips mainly. They usually turned out pretty good. I coated the chips in oil and then kept shaking them around every so often while they cooked.

Also used to put salmon in as well, it turned out really nice. I can't remember how long I popped it in for but similar to an oven time wise.

Whatever you do don't try to fry paneer in it if it's the basket type - it welds itself to the metal basket and takes hours to scrape off. In my defence I used to have an Actifry which was fine.

Better things to use it for are chips, roast potatoes, sausages, chicken portions, those little melting middle baked puddings. I have bought a little cake pan but have yet to try it.

Buffalo wings work out amazing in it!

Coat in a bit of flour.

180 degrees for 25 mins, shaking occasionally.
Then 200 degrees for 5 mins.

At the same time, make a 50-50 glaze of butter and Franks Red Hot Sauce. Best to make it in a saucepan so the glaze is hot.

Dunk the cooked wings in the glaze, and you’re done!

They work out ANAZING. Perfect crispy skin, and the meat is juicy.

I made Scotch eggs in mine last night - a real success.

Really interested in getting one of these. Is making chips a bit of a faff though, in that they need to be parboiled first?

Cuttingthegrass · 03/01/2019 10:09

I just cut into wedges (skin on) coat in a little oil, 180 about 20 mins shaking now and again.

Chicken portions are lovely

Stuffed courgette

anything you'd do in an oven really ... obviously can only lay chicken and the like in a single layer so governed by how much you're cooking but veg you can shake so no problems

combatbarbie · 03/01/2019 10:09

Our chips are always good....40 mins with a good glug of oil. No need to pay boil.

We've done chicken drumsticks and a curry in it, they were good too.

Hazlenutpie · 06/01/2019 08:44

I did cut up bell peppers and they were lovely.
