I have given my niece and nephew £25 each, I have received nothing for my daughter from their parents not even a card(not my nieces and nephews fault) my husband might be made redundant in the new year and they know this. Am I expecting to much? I know we don’t give to receive but would you be a bit miffed?

Very rude of them.

WanderingTrolley1 · 31/12/2018 18:40

I would be disappointed that a member of my family couldn’t be arsed to even get a card.

Cherries101 · 31/12/2018 18:42

I think going forwards you should stop giving your neice and nephew anything. It might not be their fault but it’s inappropriate to give unequally within family.

Strongmummy · 31/12/2018 18:45

Yep, rude of the parents. I’d not change how you behave in future because of it tho. It’s not the kids’ fault

Yanbu. Don't bother next year.

CripsSandwiches · 31/12/2018 18:55

Yes rude, did you get a thank you for your kind gift?

HairyDogsFeet · 31/12/2018 18:58

Do you usually exchange gifts?

alwaysdressedinyellow · 31/12/2018 19:14

We always do thank you cards but just haven’t t got round to them yet as been so hectic. Might that be the case for them?

alwaysdressedinyellow · 31/12/2018 19:15

Sorry - misread your post (too much Wine already!)

Gin96 · 31/12/2018 19:37

Yes we normally exchange gifts. No thank you, not even a text, the cheques have gone out of our account today.
