New Year’s Eve 2013, 5 years ago today I was sat at home on my own why everyone celebrated. The next morning the first day off 2014 I was to be induced to have my little girl who was thought to have at this point a 0-5 percent chance of surving birth. See she had a defect that meant her organs were where her lungs should have been and quite a rare severe case. After a terrible labour and her heart rate dropping which ended in emergency forceps she was born.
They cut the cord they warned me there would be silence, they warned me she wouldn’t have colour but .. she screamed and was crying and that moment as confusing as it was, was the most beautiful sound I had ever heard and I knew from that moment she would be a fighter. She was ... she did end up crashing but she fought and she fought and she got through surgery and for off life support but unfortunately which no one was prepared for she went in to right sided heart failure and intestinal failure shortly after doing so well. After nearly 2 years abdominal surgery, open heart surgery ( 25 more trips to theatre ) fighting sepsis multiple times. Just before her second birthday I bought her home. It hasn’t been a easy ride since, she still battled with intestines and heart she has had sepsis again. She is attached to machinery for 12-16 hours a day but this year she started ballet and school. She learned to ride a bike and most of all tonight I’m wrapping her birthday presents for her 5th birthday which seemed impossible so many times
Happy new year :)

Wonderful!! What a special little girl xxxx

Eatmycheese · 01/01/2019 11:55

Your daughter is an inspiration to many people I imagine. The things she has faced will give her strength, tenacity and fortitude in the years ahead i am sure. It takes such a lot of all of those things to get to where she has already. And lots of love, and your love for her shines out of your post.

I hope she has a wonderful birthday.
🌟🥂🍰♥️
