Dd16 is going to a New Year’s Eve party (a non family friend one) for the first time. It goes from 9-2 but I can’t remember going out with friends on New Years, it was always a family thing so just wondering if times have changed.

So I am on my own with a bag of Kettle Chips.

Sounds perfect, I'm envious!

Lady Gawain and I have not stayed up to see in the New Year since the Millenium.

BoardingSchoolMater · 31/12/2018 19:47

Ah, SirGawain, but I was hoping to spend it with at least one other human being...

My asd teens have zero interest in attending any parties. We will stay up watching TV and generally mooching around.

I'm 42 now and as a teen I always went out with friends to the pub/a party from age 15 or 16. From 13, I'd go round to my friends as her parents went out to play bridge on NYE/ We'd watch a video or three and scoff lots of pizza.

My 13yo DS is at his Dad's tonight, but is planning nothing more exciting than a film on Netflix then an early night. I imagine his future NYE plans may be a bit more exciting but maybe not, given he can't see what the fuss is about currently.

My DD17 is staying in with us.
