To ask you for ideas to help with my New Years resolution

So have made a resolution to do at least one day or night out (or weekend away) with my dh once a month for 2019. Obviously a mixture of free/cheap places to go plus things that we will need to fork out a reasonable amount for.

I work for myself so often miss doing very normal things that you may do as part of a team, and also sometimes can go a week without doing anything apart from walking the dog to get out the hoise.

So I guess I’m just asking - any suggestions for days or evenings out - we are based in London but happy to include a few that include travelling around the country

In the Spring/Summer get on the train and come to Whitstable for the day, walk along the beach, eat fish and chips (or oysters if that's your thing) and go see a live band in the pub in the evening.

Ice skating
Walking over the O2 Arena
Pottery painting
Go to Dans Le Noir restaurant (restaurant is pitch black, so you can't see what you are eating/drinking)
Theatre
Enjoy fish and chips on the beach/pier at the seaside
Walk llamas
Go skydiving in the wind tunnel at Xscape in Milton Keynes
Do a "meet the animal" experience at London Zoo
Go and watch the Changing of the Guard
Go to Borough Market and buy fresh stuff to make something different for dinner
Have a day in Brighton
Go and watch a live recording of a TV show. Tickets are usually free.
Do a wine tasting experience
Do a cookery course together

Letthenames, I have been once, as my DD bought it me for Christmas last year. I have known a few people who have dined there, and all agree with me that it is something you do once, but probably not again!
We arrived at the designated time, and sat in the reception area. All phones had to go into a locker. Reception was fully lit, and you could chose from things like meat menu, veggie menu, exotic menu etc. The tables were, I think, made up of 8 diners and when your waiter called you in, you had to put upper arm on the shoulder of the diner in front of you and walk in a chain into pitch black, led by your waiter. Sat down, and your food was served, with no idea what you were eating. The aim was to get you to discuss the taste, flavours etc with your dining companion. So, I found it useful to have chosen the same menu as DD so that we could discuss the same food! I couldn't see what I was eating, so abandoned knife and fork and just ate with my fingers - I think most people did the same. The food was nice, but I probably left a lot of mine because I couldn't see it! At the end, you went back into the Reception, and they gave you a menu so that you could see what you had eaten.
I found it a very different evening, fun but also made me realise how dependent I was on sight. I found being in the dark quite unnerving, but everyone was in the same boat and just got on with it. I enjoyed it, but wouldn't go there on a romantic date night, iyswim.

Climb up The Monument.

Go to visit the Roman Temple at Virginia Water (Windsor). It isn't actually a temple, but it is Roman. Assorted columns and stones arranged to resemble a ruined temple, brought from Leptis Magna (now in Libya) by an intrepid naval mission. A good place for a picnic maybe?

Go to see a play at Regents Park open air theatre.

Join one of the ticket agencies that offer cheap tickets (I can only think of central tickets at the mo!). You sign up and can get cheaper tickets for shows up in town.

@Leeds - sounds right up my street. I like experiences like that! I did a strange dining thing like that before where they made out you were on a spaceship
