To hate The Sun journalists that linger on MN

Seriously, fuck off?

Seriously considering name changing multiple times and creating far fetched stories to see what will be stolen for their next bonus.

You'd have to pay me to watch Jeremy Kyle, no wonder they're trawling mumsnet for relief.

PortiaCastis · 30/12/2018 15:47

Agreed there are links to tabloid trash stories and if a person wasn't reading them they wouldn't know about that particular trashy story, however amongst the shite on here there may be someone really in need of help. If a real story is picked up by the daily trash and plastered over their pages for all to read the OP would suffer in silence in the future and not post again, I appreciate it's a public forum but it does bother me that underneath the shite someone may need help but is maybe reluctant to post because of lazy journos

YABU.

It's a public forum. I don't get why anyone thinks they're 'lowest of the low'.

Druggies who beat up old ladies for their pension are shitbags.

People paid to research forums for the odd article are just doing a job. At least they're working.

And no, I'm not a journalist! Grin

@paintinmyhairAgain I was genuinely on the Sun app and scrolled down and saw the thread of a lady complaining about her husband quitting smoking. It wasn't hard considering I had just been on MN and seen the thread

I'm not as regular on DM as I am on The Sun (I know, but I find it a bit juicer

Supply and demand isn't it? You go to The Sun, like many others for juicy stories so they search the Internet for more juicy stories.

Happypie · 30/12/2018 20:25

Chardonnay it will help by getting them some bylines and then hopefully they will be given better stories to cover.

MaisyPops · 30/12/2018 20:33

Yes it's a public forum but it doesn't mean we can't think it's a fairly pathetic excuse for a career in journalism.
If people wish to be journalists then do something of note that constitutes actual journalism. Otherwise change the title to 'I spend my days reading internet forums and stringing screenshots together'. I'm afraid I can't take any so called journalist seriously if that's the level of their work.

Journalism is giving the public what it wants to sell newspapers so that the revenue comes in from the advertisers for the owners and shareholders. That's it.
No one wants to read hard news any more. It's all about minor celebrities, minor royals and sex/scandal.
DH is a retired hack who went early when his paper stopped covering hard news stories and crime, and actually pulled him off a murder trial to go and cover a supermarket opening, or county council meeting - something trivial, I can't remember now. A colleague of his who went to work on one of the Sundays was actually required to go through the rubbish bins of celebs they were stalking at the time... journalism is dying on its arse, unfortunately.

longwayoff · 30/12/2018 22:00

Its a bloody tragedy that journalism has been reduced to the parody of itself it's become. Just awful, the slow brainwashing with zleb sludge we're all subjected to constantly. Behold the telly star in the White House and his poisonous twitter finger.
