Just interested really.

I get 5 weeks (on top of bank hols), and one of those weeks must be Christmas. I don't like taking holiday in the first four - five months of the year as I worry I'll need it later on.

Week in April, fortnight in August, week in October and a week in December. I prefer to take less holiday in the first half-year and more in the second. Actually wanted my first week at the end of May but couldn't get it.

Theromanempire · 29/12/2018 19:21

Spreading it out through all the school holidays - I get 33 days plus bank hols but it actually doesn't go far with 13 weeks school holidays to cover Wink

HilaryBriss · 29/12/2018 19:23

I like spacing mine out so I'll probably have a week in March, one in May, one in July, one in September and the rest left for is odd days as and when I need them (I get Christmas anyway, no need to book them).

I don't have kids so am not tied to School hols and don't particularly want more than a week at a time.

still got two weeks of this years as ours runs out in february so will take one week as holidays and one week as pay (which we can do), then taking 2 weekends in july and two weeks end of august for main holiday so by this time next year will still have some holiday to take after new year as all my kids have grown up andf left home i dont have to consider childcare just work round uni hours as my OH is a lecturer and i work in hospitality so easter and christmas new year are not allowed for me

maddiemookins16mum · 29/12/2018 19:26

2 days in March
1 day in August
12 days in September
5 days at Christmas
3 days spare
Plus bank holidays

chipsnmayo · 29/12/2018 19:27

I'm off until the 7th Jan, then taking a week in February. Then about 3 weeks in October.

iamyourequal · 29/12/2018 19:27

I get 5 weeks. I take them when schools are off as I have children. 2019 will be: 1 week April, 2 weeks July/August (sometimes split into 2 separate weeks depending on trips planned), 1 week October & 1 week Christmas. Thankfully we have a flexi-time system at work, so I use saved up flexi-time to cover other odd days off/appointments/kids sick days etc.

RJnomore1 · 29/12/2018 19:28

4 days for uni end of January
Same start of June
Week for a holiday in August
Not sure about the rest yet. I think I have 29 days.

pussinwellyboots · 29/12/2018 19:29

I've sacrificed some of my salary to purchase 2 extra weeks of holiday so I get 8 weeks plus bank holidays. Am planning on taking each of the half terms and spreading out the rest through the other school holidays.

Purplejay · 29/12/2018 19:32

Mine is mainly school hols. I get 6 weeks.

Roughly:
1 wk April
2 days May (spring bank)
2 wk August
2 days Oct
1 wk Christmas
2 days Feb
4 spare (inset days, bad weather etc).

Purplejay · 29/12/2018 19:33

Luckily I work flexi so can make up extra time and take a day back every 4 was.

I wish I could buy an extra couple of weeks.

EnglishRose13 · 29/12/2018 19:36

Few days in January for my birthday. A week in April for my sons birthday. A week in July when my exams are over. Two weeks in December. The rest at the end of October and November.

I was the same with regards to not using holiday for the first few months in case you need them but now I like to have my sons birthday off.

amusedbush · 29/12/2018 19:37

Our holiday year runs from 1st October - 30th Sept.

I took a couple of days study leave in October and week in November for a trip to New York. We also have to take four days leave between Christmas and New Year, even though the University closes and we couldn’t work even if we wanted to 🙄

I’ve booked two and a bit weeks off in April/May but I’m only using nine days of my leave thanks to Easter/May Day holidays. I’ll need to take a few days as study leave in July-ish but no other plans apart from that. I generally end up carrying 3-5 days over to the next year because I don’t use them all Blush

cadburyegg · 29/12/2018 19:42

I’ve come to the end of my maternity leave and am using annual leave at the moment so not returning to the office until February. After that I have just under 5 weeks to use until end of September.

I’m planning to use 1 week (possibly more) in September when DS1 starts Reception and 1 week in August but apart from that I haven’t planned it. Need to keep a certain amount of days free for ill children/childcare emergencies etc.

proseccoaficionado · 29/12/2018 19:48

2 days in February
3 days in May
5 days in July
10 days in August
5 days in December

Planned so far. Keep the rest for emergencies

Cath2907 · 29/12/2018 19:49

Just doing this now. 2 weeks over Xmas as is my norm. A week + a long weekend in Aug. 4 days over Easter. That makes 18 days. I have another 10 to plan. Probably a few days over May and October half terms.

Hillarious · 29/12/2018 19:55

Am waiting until after 29 March to make a decision on what to do for summer holidays.

BarbarianMum · 29/12/2018 20:03

I'll probably take a week in May and 3 weeks in August.
