Looking at buying my first house but have no idea what a house is worth and what offer to go in at.

If I posted the house on here, I take it people wouldn't be able to help because they don't know the area?

I went to look at it but not sure it is worth what they're asking.

AIBU to be completely terrified of paying too much? Not sure what to do...

It's a three bed with a big dressing room that could easily be used as bed 4. Nobody in their right mind would take a 20% reduction, that would be £100k on a half million house. In many cases that kind of reduction would mean selling are a loss.

Prices in the south are mad! I’ve been looking at a house for sale near me. It’s also end Terrace but on a quiet little street. It’s got 3 reception rooms downstairs and 4 bedrooms upstairs. £145,000. But that’s in north England. There is no way I could afford to ever buy in the south (we’re currently saving for a deposit) and I don’t know how most people do.
