Sorry I know this is similar to another thread but didn’t want to hikack that one.
I have crippling health anxiety. I have done for about 12 years. I have tried lots of different treatments and CBT and counselling. However it’s getting worse if anything. The GPs have basically
Said there’s nothing else they can do. My head is constantly full of health worries about myself and others in my family.

Has anyone had this and something ha stopped it? What else can I do?
It’s ruining my life :(

Are you taking antidepressants? It can take a while to find the right one at the right dose for you, but with time, they are highly likely to be very effective. SRIs are brilliant for anxiety. Most people who take them wish they had done it sooner. Also, you could ask for a referral to a psychiatrist, which may open up pathways to different treatments.

Hello. I just wanted to say that I suffer with Health Anxiety too and I know how all consuming it is. I am 34 weeks pregnant and have been having weekly CBT for it for the last 6 months.
Are you on any medication at all? Often it's a combination of the correct meds and talking treatment which can help although often take a while to find. Sorry that you are suffering with this, it really is soul destroying.

Over the last twelve years I have tried every medication possible and nothing has helped. I’m so fed up of it ruining my life and I know DH has started getting really fed up of it and has got quite nasty about it (which I understand) :(

It's not helpful though and I don't think people who have never had it understand how truly awful it is.
Have you looked into alternative treatments such as hypnotherapy? You'd likely have to pay for it privately but it could help.
Also if you have recently become a parent for the first time (judging by your username) then it is completely understandable why it has suddenly become worse as you feel you have even more to lose. I worry about mine becoming severe too. I try and use the techniques I've learned in CBT but on some days, it doesn't seem enough.
