Just listening to her on radio 4 (she was guest editor in radio 4 this morning) and think I'm becoming a total fan girl.

I've never really known much about her other than the crazy headlines in the past but she seems so intelligent, thoughtful and seems to have dedicated her life to women's rights. Am I missing something or is she just amazing!

From what I've read her personal life seems a bit of a mess but she's done great things for women and I admire her for that. I also like watching her in films, she's beautiful

I heard the second half and thought she came across really well, her work for women's causes is admirable and she also went up in my estimation. No person is 100% good or bad. We've all done questionable things in our past but they aren't dragged up for years in the press. 'oh don't be friends with Karen, she stole a belt from Chelsea Girl'

Ok, my eyes have been opened ! She does seem (according to the press) to have some pretty messed up parenting ideas. If I was being empathetic I'd say that her life must be pretty complicated and I suspect she has some issues.

However she does seem to be doing a lot of good for other people, maybe she's on a path of enlightenment (trying not to sound patronising) and is growing?

It's taken me a few months to get up to speed with some of the trans issues and I've had to dedicate some serious time to reading up on it all, and that's probably just one element of the stuff going on here.
