To bother the GP again

My oh has health anxieties so I can't speak to him about this but I'm desperate to get some perspective.
Over a week ago I started to get a terrible pain behind my left ear. Im finding it hard to cope with the pain. It seems to be on the bone behind my ear and at the bottom of my head on the left hand side.
It isn't there constantly but comes on around 30 times a day lasting from a few minutes to an hour.

I saw the GP on Monday who said inside my ear was healthy, and that my glands aren't swollen, she didn't say what she thought it could be but prescribed Naproxen 500 mg.

The pain is now getting worse, the tablets don't do anything and I'm at a complete loss as to what it is. AIBU to make an emergency appointment today? I'm worried I may take an appointment from someone who really needs one if this is just something that I have to put up with until it goes away.

Has anyone had this before and should I go back to the GP? (I know this isn't a medical board but getting a bit desperate now)

Don't lose hope, OP. I had amitriptyline for a trapped nerve and I felt better in 24 hrs - it is possible

Do you suffer from migraine? It could be a cluster headache?

You should consider a physio assessment from a physio with TMj experience. It can really help with that type of pain
