Who do not read the fucking OP.

There is nothing more infuriating than a poster who writes their issue and explains that they cannot do A and have already tried B and then the majority of posters come along suggesting A or B. Angry

I also cannot stand people who come along with a know it all manner and dish out commands using really short sentences. For example: Ambulance. Now.

No doubt I ABU but there are no two things surer to give me the fucking rage.

It's even more annoying when a poster writes their issue and explains that they cannot do A and have already tried B and then the majority of posters come along suggesting A or B. Xmas Wink

MyPoodleisWorthTenofYou · 26/12/2018 18:18

Yeah the ‘ambulance, now’ thing gives me the rage.

I switch off when an OP is trying to explain a scenario and writes person A, person B, person C bla bla bla. Can’t then be chored to read it.

AIBU. Isn't it?

onlyonmumnet · 26/12/2018 18:26

@HarperIsBazaar I've never actually seen anyone policing a thread saying what others can or can't say tbh.

OP posts:
onlyonmumnet · 26/12/2018 18:26

@Subtlecheese eh?

OP posts:
ilovesooty · 26/12/2018 18:32

You've never seen others try to dictate what others can and cannot say? It happens quite a lot.

onlyonmumnet · 26/12/2018 19:14

No I honestly haven't. I've seen people express an opinion but that's not really dictating anything.

OP posts:
masterandmargarita · 26/12/2018 19:24

People police threads all the time. It's most annoying

onlyonmumnet · 26/12/2018 19:32

So are policing the police then? Any view on the OP?

OP posts:
Nothininmenoggin · 26/12/2018 19:48

Switch with OP that goes on for more than 3 long paragraphs. It's like reading a freaking book.

Nothininmenoggin · 26/12/2018 19:48

Switch off

Boswellox · 26/12/2018 20:01

I hear you but with no recommend button there's no impetus to read what people have actually said before posting?

AGHHHH · 26/12/2018 20:03

The ambulance thing is the first thing I thought of as I was reading. Yanbu.

Blueblueyellow · 26/12/2018 20:12

Op, I was about to start a thread on this myself. I know what post you are referring to, it was horrible what people were saying. No wonder so many mothers suffer in silence when there are so so many perfect ones to make them feel like shit. And yes, why do they not read the f**king thread.

onlyonmumnet · 26/12/2018 21:34

I think there are some very bored and nasty people on mn who would rather male people feel like shit than attempt anything productive or helpful.

OP posts:
piefacedClique · 27/12/2018 10:18

I hate it when people derail the thread with weird sub stories.... it happened in the spangran one and there was a whole random story filling the thread.... it was like an injoke which I couldn’t be arsed with... I just wanted to find out what was happening with the wall not hear a weird sub story about the Russians or whatever it was!

DaphneFanshaw · 27/12/2018 10:20

Op, have you thought about a spa day ?

araiwa · 27/12/2018 10:23

People who proudly boast they havent read the thread and 7 pages in offer an opinion suggested many times already

If you havent rtft, why would anyone read your post

MacarenaFerreiro · 27/12/2018 10:23

Reverses. Just don't. Or those ridiculous threads written from the imagined perspective of the cat, the toddler or Kate Middleton.

SnuggyBuggy · 27/12/2018 10:23

I bet in real life they are people who love the sound of their own voice

ErrolTheDragon · 27/12/2018 11:16

Or people who've only read the OP and so wade in having missed further clarification from the OP. At least skim through and read all the posts from the OP even if you CBA to RTFT.

hippoherostandinghere · 27/12/2018 11:22

It's the Mumsnet bandwagon that does my head in. One person hones in on one thing the OP said and focuses on that rather than the question in hand. Then everyone was else comes along and joins in. Nitpicking at its very finest. 'You're unreasonable for hifi' for example.

DGRossetti · 27/12/2018 11:37

Seems to be "a thing", along with reading Amazon questions about products, and seeing someone has taken the time and effort to reply: I don't know, as I don't own one of these or similar ....

MereDintofPandiculation · 27/12/2018 12:37

Amazon questions about products, and seeing someone has taken the time and effort to reply: I don't know, as I don't own one of these Isn't that because Amazon has sent them a "personal" email asking them to review, and they feel obliged to reply, using the clickable link in the email?" I don't think many people suddenly get an urge to log on to Amazon, choose a product they don't have, and then review it..
