DS is 3.5, and has a virus. Every question of what food he might like is met with ‘nothing’. He’s drinking ok, so doctors not concerned, but he has a history of repeat and long-term infections since birth and loses weight really easily. We’ve just got to a point where he’s hit 50th centipede for the first time since his birth and I’m really keen for him not to get out of the habit of eating. So, any brilliant suggestions for tempting food? He’s had a Barney Bear today, and a few blueberries. That’s it. It’s doesn’t have to be healthy, just calories will do at this point.

Fruit? It’s light, refreshing and you can pick at it - I always crave pineapple and berries if I feel a bit rubbish.

@Jezzifishie

my husband has this with doughnuts! Especially the ones with icing on - he had one just before the onset of a nasty stomach bug and hasn't been able to touch one since!

It is sad. Sad

When my ds refused food for a while (following a gagging on bacon fat episode) he survived on yoghurt, and complan meal replacements as his 'special' milkshakes. Might they be an option to get some calories in?

TransposersArePosers · 27/12/2018 13:50

Actually, not sure whether complan is suitable for someone of his age. Hope he feels much better soon

Little actimal drinks and jelly is our go to. Jelly is really good for rehydration -

A snack plate for him to pick at. Cheese cubes, strawberries, breadsticks etc

My 2 are both ill.. the 3 year old has had a bit toast and that's about it. The baby is completely off food but happy to breastfeed. It's crap. Hope your little one feels better soon.
