next door neighbour’s son was ringing door bell and banging the door at 9.30am, I didn’t answer as I was still in pyjamas but when I came downstairs the son was trying to climb over the 6ft garden wooden fence.
I came out and asked what he thought he was doing and his dad who was also at the fence told me that had I answered the door he would need to be out there! No apology or nothing - then just asked me to get the ball, I said no as I had no shoes on he then asked me how long I would be I told him he would have to wait and he asked what 10 mins I just went back in my house - very upset!!
What would you do I don’t want to fall out with them but they keep kicking the ball over and just expecting me to get it straight away

Oh haha - get the kid the ball. Friendly neighbours and all that. Say to them if it happens again he'll have to wait as you’re taking it easy today.

ScreamingBadSanta · 25/12/2018 13:08

Be assertive with them - say that in future you will only be throwing balls back when you happen to be going out to the garden anyway.

GlassLantern · 25/12/2018 13:08

Ebeneezer - is that you?

CrazyOldBagLady · 25/12/2018 13:12

Probably just let them climb the fence, he might learn to be more careful that way!

Jeanclaudejackety · 25/12/2018 13:14

Jesus it's just a kid and a ball why the massive drama, how do you cope with real catastrophes?!

neddle · 25/12/2018 13:32

Why should op spoil Christmas Day with her family to play fetch for next door’s kid?
I wouldn’t be trekking into the garden for a ball today.

Icequeen01 · 25/12/2018 13:38

I open my side gate when my NDN's son is in his garden playing footie. He knows I don't mind him letting himself in to my back garden to get his ball. Honestly what is the harm? I never understand posts like this!

marvellousnightforamooncup · 25/12/2018 13:42

Glad this is all you have to worry about.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 25/12/2018 13:46

Sorry but it's xmas day. I'm busy with my family. I wouldn't be going out in my garden to chuck his ball back. If he can climb over himself, fair play. If not, unlucky.

Trekking into the garden... Ruining Xmas day by having to walk allllll they way... Jesus christ im loling unless op lives on a thousand acre estate in the Highlands I'm sure walking 9 steps into the garden of her bog standard semi in Greater Suburbia isn't going to ruin Christmas for her kids forever 😂😂
