Made a mistake wrapping gifts up.

Just checked Christmas gifts and realised that I have put the wrong tags on half the santa gift :( ran out of tags to cover them all up with santa tags so got a cross over of wrap. Any wise suggestions if little one asks tomorrow? She's nearly 7.

Put all the presents from Santa in a big bag and just have one label for the bag

NotAColdWomanHenry · 24/12/2018 17:17

Angelina :o I always did that! Obviously (in my mind), Rudolph comes down the chimney for the carrot. I now see that makes no sense. Kids never batted an eyelid (though to be fair they were highly cynical anyway and didn't believe after about age 5)

Someone told me that to make realistically chewed carrot, you should slam it in a door. That seemed to be going a bit far to me so I just chewed it myself. But anyway that suggests leaving the chewed carrot lying around is normal!

could you cut squares of Santa wrapping paper into tags?

Notsurehowifeel0 · 24/12/2018 17:20

We tell our dc that we send santa some wrapping paper to help him out because he must need so much wrapping paper Grin

Verryberrycherry · 24/12/2018 17:21

My eldest is 4 amd I've used whatever paper we have from us and santa. Also i really wish i hadn't bothered putting tags on the ones from santa. I wont bother next year.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 24/12/2018 17:27

I've always used different paper from santa (his paper is covered in Santas) but never use tags- except one year I found some "from santa" tags
His gifts just have the distinctive wrap and the childs initial written somewhere in felt tip to prevent any unwrapping calamities...

We send Father Christmas the paper and all the gifts are from us but he brings them. Saves all these kind of problems!

Chouetted · 24/12/2018 18:29

You happened to choose the same wrapping paper as Santa this year. What a funny coincidence! At least you know you have good taste.

MrsJayy · 24/12/2018 18:34

Just take the tags off problem solved you are panicking over not a lot chill Xmas Smile

flameycakes · 24/12/2018 18:38

I wrapped the scissors up last Christmas Eve, I blamed the Bailey's x

flameycakes · 24/12/2018 18:42

I also used to tell my boys when they were younger, that I didn't have a clue where certain presents under tree came from, and must have only been from Santa, it helped stretch the fantasy a little as they got older, 25, 21 and 13 now, and I still tell them the same, though they giggle at me now xx

Snowydaysaregreat · 24/12/2018 18:45

Any white sticky labels. Or make tags out of Xmas cards

MakeItRain · 24/12/2018 18:53

Use the "new elf" idea and in the letter say that the elf had forgotten to wrap all the presents so Santa's really sorry but he had to use some wrapping paper from your house to finish wrapping them! Add that he loves the paper and will be ordering some in for next year!
We had this one year when Santa "borrowed" one of our cards to write a quick thank you note for the mince pie and carrots. He did add that he hoped we didn't mind that he'd pinched a card. Grin

OurChristmasMiracle · 24/12/2018 18:53

Leave your wrapping paper by the tree and say it saves Santa having to fit it in his sleigh. Also means you can always use the sand wrap in future. Maybe even leave scissors. And tape out.

LordBuckley · 24/12/2018 21:45

My son eventually noticed that Santa's handwriting was the same as Mummy's, so when they start noticing these things there's not a lot you can do about it.

DeadDoorpost · 31/12/2018 10:00

How did it go @Fullofthought

Mummylife2018 · 31/12/2018 10:33

Santa and Mummy & Daddy using the same wrapping paper is how I discovered Santa wasn't real!

Fullofthought · 31/12/2018 10:56

She said santa pinched our paper. So all was ok.
