My friends have ruined Christmas... it's a pattern of behaviour.

Aibu? It's our first Christmas as a family. I've never really celebrated before as I was on my own for a long time. I've recently got married to a wonderful woman and we now have a small family.

So not knowing what to do, I've done some research, I've decorated the house, we've chosen a tree, made baubles and so on. Just as I'm settling down to tell the children the Xmas story, my friends have charged into the house, laden with tree, food and presents and completely taken over.

They're dancing, loud music. The house is shaking! They keep taking over and to top it all off, they're so careless they've nearly set fire to me and the house!

Needless to say I've thrown them all out but now my wife if making out that I'm the ogre because they're our friends. I'm sick of her taking their side all the time.

EhlanaOfElenia · 24/12/2018 16:51

These types of threads are so bloody annoying. Get a bloody life and write about that....

GlitterStick · 24/12/2018 16:55

Jeez, there's some rude Grinch like sods on here tonight.
So you don't find it funny, so what?
Go cheer your miserable faces up with some eggnog or mulled wine or bury your face in your christmas chocs instead of dragging everybody down with you lol

PerpendicularVincent · 24/12/2018 16:56

Not just you, SpongeBob, I share your feelings on this.

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 24/12/2018 17:01

Is it just me who doesn't find these funny

Definitely not just you

Sparkletastic · 24/12/2018 17:09

Lame

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 24/12/2018 17:18

Glitter, not finding it funny is NOT rude Hmm

BottleOfJameson · 24/12/2018 17:34

haha I'm usually the person who writes a really earnest reply not realising it's a reference to something.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 24/12/2018 17:36

Me too Bottle, then feel stupid, and the OP and others who have got it can feel smug and clever! Making people feel stupid is not funny. IMHO.

selepele · 24/12/2018 17:39

How did your friends charge into your house do they have your keys

selepele · 24/12/2018 17:40

Oh lol I never seen that Sherk movie

GlitterStick · 24/12/2018 18:25

No, not finding it funny isn't rude but saying stuff like get a bloody life is!

MacarenaFerreiro · 24/12/2018 18:30

Is it just me who doesn't find these funny

No it's not just you. But we're supposed to all be in awe of how clever and amazing the OP is.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 24/12/2018 18:34

Fairy nuff, glitter Xmas Grin

pizzaa · 24/12/2018 18:37

YANBU
I don't see how Fiona your wife would be happy for your friends to throw a party when your young triples are settling off to sleep.

Avegemitesandwich · 24/12/2018 18:42

Oh I see, sorry I didn't understand the Shrek reference, I get it now, and now that I do.....

Jesus fucking christ, some people on this thread are right miserable arseholes aren't they. What is your problem? The OP was just trying to have a bit of fun.

Jamiefraserskilt · 24/12/2018 18:51

Beats what is happening here. Some posh bird has just shown up and taken over the kids. She appears to be friends with some chimney sweep who has met up with his mates and they are dancing on my roof!

DaphneCanDoBetterThanFred · 24/12/2018 18:52

Of course it’s fine if you don’t like it, but why comment? Nobody actually cares if you think it’s funny or not, so just click away from the thread and leave it the people who enjoy it rather than bitch plopping your rudeness all over the place. Joyless fuckers Grin

GlitterStick · 24/12/2018 18:52

Mary Poppins Grin watching that here too, JamieFrasersKilt

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 24/12/2018 18:53

And you don't need to comment either Daphne. Back at yer! Nobody cares about your opinion either, how ironic!

DaphneCanDoBetterThanFred · 24/12/2018 19:03

I know, I know Judgeypants and I live in the hope that some people will have enough manners so I don’t have to comment. Grin Until that day..

GallicosCats · 24/12/2018 19:33

You think you have it hard? I'm working over Christmas. All night Christmas Eve on a non stop delivery job. I'm not allowed to ring the bell or leave any of those little cards that your lot leave. Well alright they leave me tips, mostly food and alcohol and extra fuel for transport. But really - trillions of items in total, to be delivered inside each address, worldwide, in one night?

I think I'm being taken for a mug.
(As an aside AIBU to drink the sherry?)
