DS is 15 months, doesn't feed during the day but does wake four or five times in the night for milk. Could I have more than one drink on Xmas day, or would it get into my milk?

Pumping and dumping is pointless. Just don't get shit faced or cosleep.

AuntieStella · 24/12/2018 16:38

The odd drink on special occasions isn't going to be an issue at all.

Getting hammered regularly wouldn't be good.tho

If you drink in moderation and don’t get wasted your milk will never be more than around 0.4% alcohol - low enough to be classed as non-alcoholic and equivalent to giving your baby Becks Blue!

The risk with drinking is being too drowsy or intoxicated to safely look after your baby.

Don't pump and dump, it's a faff and a waste of milk.

As others have said, it's fine to drink and BF. If you drank the amount you'd need to drink to make your milk unsafe you would be unconscious and not able to feed anyway.

I have fond memories of feeding the baby in the pub on holiday, baby on one hand/arm and a vodka in the other Grin

Happy Christmas to the BFers! Including a little Christmas spirit all round!

If you get tipsy quickly I wouldn't drink more.

I would be worried about sleeping habits though of 15 mth old waking that many times for milk through the night!

@Taytotots Based on that article I got my micro grams and millilitres confused, the blood alcohol limit is 0.08% so everything is a 10th of what I was working with. So ultimately if I’m at the drink drive limit the baby gets closer to 1/20thbof a pint scales by bodyweight than half!
That makes me feel much better and is much more what I remember last time I did it.
Wish I’d had my mulled wine last night now!!
