Hope the link works its the mirror anyway

Basically a mum isn't buying her son 1 christmas OR birthday present EVER because she would rather put the money away for his future, i honestly find this shocking but hey at least he will have money for the therapy he will need....

To think she could get him 1 or 2 gifts?!

My thoughts on this are;

She's just doing the article for attention
It's very easy to say no present, when your child is only two
While I'm all for not spending unnecessarily spending, you can buy on or two gifts without going over the top
She sounds like a right killjoy

tubspreciousthings · 23/12/2018 23:31

@Pinknike - I posted above that this article isn't true & the Mum is really upset about getting so much abuse.

She only spoke to the journalist to raise awareness of prematurity and is upset that this is what's happened.

SpitefulMidLifeAnimal · 23/12/2018 23:48

Seriously, tubs? Christ almighty, that is VILE behaviour from the journo Rosaleen Fenton. Really fucking disgusting...

tubspreciousthings · 23/12/2018 23:54

@SpitefulMidLifeAnimal - yeah, it's really upsetting. I always believed tabloid journalists could be economical with the truth, but this one should be ashamed of herself.

Yulebealrite · 23/12/2018 23:58

We often forget we shouldn't believe everything we read. This is a horrible reminder that real lives are affected by sensationalist journalism.

Pinknike · 24/12/2018 07:42

Bloody hell tubs hadn't read that.

I suppose I should know that journalists lie, just seems such an odd thing to make you so presumed she'd sold the story.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 24/12/2018 08:38

tubs

Thats is awful!!

I didnt think it was a bad idea necessarily...just that she would never be able to keep it up!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 24/12/2018 09:14

Its very very different if you cant afford it, but I think its cruel to not buy him a few little things.
While I don't agree with spoiling children. It is important to get the balance right. If she can afford to put money away. I'm sure she can buy 10 or even 5 gifts from poundland. Christmas is such a magical time
As pp says. Its very easy to say all this and have all kinds of morals when they little. How ever let's see when he's older and influenced by his friends ect.
Just before I sign off. Neil is cutest name for a baby.
