Seriously? How can people be so inconsiderate...it’s mindblowing. If it were me, I just might be stupid enough not to realize my lights were still on or that it was affecting other people. Like falling asleep and forgetting to put away a casserole. Only it’s a dumb decision that affects the entire neighborhood, and not just one’s self. I would leave them a note politely informing them that they may not be aware, but their lights are keeping you and your family up and ask them to turn them off at a reasonable time.

MerdedeBrexit · 23/12/2018 04:34

If we were doing that (ours are on a timer), and someone came to ask us politely to stop, we'd be highly embarrassed, apologise, and rush to turn the lights off and make sure they were turned off at a reasonable time every night from then on. I don't understand why people think their decorations should supersede the sleep of their neighbours in their street?

Is this you op? Wink

@OliviaStabler that's funny 😆

But I don't believe the guy for one second with his "I'd have turned them off at night if she'd asked". Why have them on all night in the first place!

MerdedeBrexit · 23/12/2018 05:20

I think this link works for Olivia's post.
I don't think she was cutting enough, if I'd been her I'd have brought a ladder Grin

Imalittleelf · 23/12/2018 05:29

You can get those baby black out blinds which sucker to the window. That might work and worth the investment?

Pinkkittens292 · 23/12/2018 06:01

There is nothing worse than that!
Particularly when you suffer from ocular migraines and don't have Christmas lights yourself for that reason, yet at night the entire room in on disco-mode due to next door neighbours leaving theirs on!!
I don't mind during early evening as it's not so noticeable until our room is in darkness when we go to bed.
I've taken to putting the cover right over my head and keeping my eyes closed.

Apologies for the crap links Blush
